Cottage Profile
Open concept, 2000 sq ft, three bedroom plus loft cottage located
at Hay Bay on the shores of Lake Huron. This cottage is conveniently
located just four kilometres outside of the village of Tobermory.
The main living area of the cottage is an open concept featuring
natural wood work, cathedral ceilings and a wrap around deck. The
sitting area features a new couch, loveseat and chair to relax in
after a busy day exploring all that the area has to offer. A television
with satellite and DVD player as well as a woodstove are provided
for your convenience and comfort. The most unique feature of this
room is the crowsnest that looks out over the water. A ladder leads
up to the top of this crowsnest, and children should be supervised
in this area.
Adjacent to the sitting room is the kitchen equipped with all the
modern conveniences including stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher.
An island provides additional space to prepare holiday feasts. A
dining table with chairs to seat all eight in the party is located
off the kitchen.
The loft area at the cottage is on the third floor. This room opens
into the main living area and is accessed by a spiral staircase.
A Queen bed is located here, as well as a double futon, and a table
with a few chairs. This is a great space for the kids in your party.
One bedroom is on the main floor, this one with a Queen bed. The
remaining two bedrooms are on the lower level of the cottage. One
room has a Double sized bed and the other has two single beds.
On the lower level you will also find a ping pong table, a great
way to keep entertained on a rainy day.
There are two bathrooms at the cottage. A three piece bathroom
with shower is located on the main level, and a four piece shower
with both bathtub and shower is located on the main level as an
ensuite to the master bedroom.
A deck that wraps around the cottage also has a hot tub for your
group to enjoy. The hot tub overlooks the water and is the pefect
place to relax after a day of hiking the trails.
Cottage is located in a private setting, has western exposure with
a great view of Lake Huron and magnificent sunsets.
Only a short distance away, you can stroll through the shops in
the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural
harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you view shipwrecks,
lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Also, dinner cruises aboard
the Chi-Cheemaun are very popular.
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream. A 10 minute
drive away, guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or
along the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Amphitheater programs
are available at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are informative and entertaining.
