The Beach House
This stunning Georgian Bay waterfront home features an expansive
2-tiered deck, spectacular views over the sparkling waters of Georgian
Bay, a beautiful sandy beach, and lovely sunrises and sunsets.
Beach House is located near Balm Beach just 1½ hours from the Greater
Toronto Area (GTA). Balm Beach is a favourite holiday destination
with many area events and attractions.
With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms
this is a great vacation getaway choice for families or small groups.
You enter the cottage on the main level where you will be welcomed by a spacious L shaped living room, sitting area and dining room with beautiful hardwood floors that create a warm and welcoming feeling. There are plenty of large bright picture windows allowing you to appreciate the exceptional bay views.
In the living room there is a coffee table, comfortable full size couch with chaise for relaxing, TV, and stone fireplace. Together with the adjoining sitting area with two couches, coffee table, and a chair there are plenty of seating options and great spots for relaxation, conversation or spending time with your favourite book.
The large picture windows continue on through to the dining area.
In the dining area there is a table with bench and chair seating.
There is a door from the living, sitting, dining areas that offers
easy access to the large outside deck. Conveniently located next
to the dining area is the kitchen.
The kitchen has a fridge, stove,
oven, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and cutlery. There is a window
in the kitchen looking out onto the grassy side yard.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms all with windows to let in the
breeze. The large master bedroom has a king bed and patio door leading
to a private outdoor deck where you can take advantage of the great
water views. Wake up to the sunrise over the bay!
Downstairs there is a games room with table tennis and table soccer games that the kids (young and old) will enjoy, and a love seat and fireplace for relaxing. For your convenience there is also a washer and dryer to take care of any laundry needs during your stay at the cottage.
Outside there is plenty of room on the elevated 2-tiered deck that
offers great vantage points as you gaze out across the water and
enjoy the fresh air. The deck is a perfect spot to socialize, catch
up with family and friends, or relax with your favourite vacation
beverage. There are plenty of outdoor chairs and lounges for relaxing.
The early birds in your group can enjoy a quiet morning coffee.
There is a gas BBQ for grilling up some feasts and you can enjoy
an outdoor lunch and dinner at the beautiful big built-in dining
table on the deck. The spacious front and side yards are generally
level with lots of room for outdoor games.
It’s just a short
stroll down your private sand pathway to the shore with its sandy,
gradual entry, walk-in beach area making it ideal for children and
families. You can spend the day swimming, splashing around in the
water, building sand castles, or watching lovely sunrises and sunsets.
The deck is the ideal spot to catch some rays, relax in a lounge
under the umbrella with a good book and take in a great panoramic
view of the Georgian Bay. If you prefer take a dip in the bay, life
doesn’t get much sweeter than that at the end of a hot summers
day, or sway in one of the two hammocks.
Whether your vacation style is to be active or relaxed, sporty or artsy, or a combination of each you will find plenty to see and do in the area.
At nearby Balm Beach there is a sand beach, a nice restaurant, an
arcade with games for the kids young and old", and a go-cart
The nearest towns are Midland and Penetanguishene, less than
15 minute drive, where you will find plenty of shopping, dining,
and sightseeing. There are three golf courses within a 10 to 15
minute drive, (Midland GCC, Brooklea GCC, Balmy Beachway). Experience
the 30,000 Islands with a trip on the Miss Midland or the Georgian
Queen - both sightseeing and sunset dinner cruises available. Within
10 to 15 minutes there are many historically significant and interesting
sites: the Martyr's Shrine, St. Marie-Among-the-Hurons - a restored
native village, Discovery Harbour - a 19th century British military
base with tall ships, King's Warf Theatre to take in a live play,
Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre - great fun for kids, the Tay and Tiny
hiking and biking trails, and Awenda Provincial Park.
This cottage rents year round with easy access to beautiful sand
beaches in the Summer, brilliant Fall colours, and Winter skiing,
snowshoing, and snowmobile trails.
