The Not-So Perfect Cottage Experience
Reviewed by Sahar S on 10/16/2016
I just find that for the size and profit this property makes (as I was told it's quite popular), there is so much neglect for the upkeep. And honestly, why are you charging for a full-priced experience when many things are either out of use or in need of repair (e.g. lights, a part of the kitchen stove, propane tank, shower, etc). No other establishment would charge you at a full rate if things were dysfunctional or out of use; your claimed amenities are lacking. There was such a delay in hearing back from the numerous times we called the renters that in the end, we decided to pack up and leave a day early.
And worst thing that came out of the experience is my daughters (whose bedrooms were facing the lake) got bedbug bites! My daughters had noticed one of the insects on the bed but as they have never encountered bed bugs, they didn't know what they were dealing with at the time. When I called the owners to bring this up, they rudely accused us of bringing the bugs with us and since then, have not answered any of our calls.
We've rented this property through Rent Cottage (Ontario) since we trust this site and have rented a few cottages before this one. But never have I had such a poor customer experience, considering how lovely the location and size is! Until they resolve their bed bug issues and do some repairs to their property, I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

It is unfortunate that you were not able to enjoy this lovely location. It is very true that it is quite popular and people are returning each year to enjoy it. The report of bed bugs was never confirmed on inspection. Our company had no complaints prior to your arrival nor since your stay. Choosing a cottage for your family is very personal. Everyone has a different vision for their vacation. In future please feel free to contact us to assist you in your search. If you provide us with your personal likes and dislikes, we would be happy to make appropriate recommendations for your vacation accommodation.

It was wonderful!
Reviewed by Josée R on 05/12/2016
The site was just wonderful. On the edge of a beautiful lake. The cottage is quite large and made it easy for us to have my nephew, his wife and their young baby girl just over a year old stay with us for a few days. Since the cottage has a small appartment-like division, they were able to have their own space and retrieve whenever needed.
The only difficulty we had was getting out of the site after it had snowed. The snow was very wet and the driveway became very slippery. I would have appreciated having the drive way sanded and salted to facilitate the going uphill to get out of the property. There was no sand or salt available.
All in all, we had a great time.
