FOOLS RUSH INN
About 1 hour from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) this Lake Eugenia waterfront cottage is a marvelous choice for a family-oriented vacation. Lake Eugenia is at the entrance to the Beaver Valley in southern Ontario's recreational heartland.
The cottage is located on a quiet dead-end cottage road, nestled in the trees along the shoreline of Lake Eugenia with swimming, boating, and fishing; or you can enjoy hiking, golfing, cycling, antiquing, visiting restaurants, artist and artisan studios/galleries; or just simply relaxing.
When you enter the cottage you will be welcomed by a bright open living, dining and kitchen area with three walls of large picture windows that look out onto the deck and offer spectacular waterfront views.
The living room is spacious with a large comfy L-shaped sofa, two
wicker chairs, a 42” HD cable TV, and fireplace. There are
3 TVs (one 42” and two 24”), a radio, CD and DVD players
at the cottage. The dining table can accommodate eight people and
there are three kitchen island stools for additional seating. The
kitchen has a fridge, stove, dishwasher, and toaster, tea pot and
coffee maker. There are 3 bedrooms and a one bathroom in the cottage.
Two bedrooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has a double
bed. The bathroom is a 3 piece with shower, toilet, and sink. For
your convenience there is also a washer and dryer available on the
lower level of the cottage to take care of your laundry needs during
In addition to the three bedrooms in the cottage there is a fourth bedroom on the upper level of the boathouse with a queen and two single beds. The upper level of the boathouse also features a patio door leading to a private deck overlooking the lake.
Outside the cottage there is a 400 square foot elevated deck that’s
perfect for taking advantage of the morning sunrise, beautiful lake
views, socializing, and relaxing with your book and/or favourite
summer beverage. With 8 Muskoka chairs and 8 deck chairs there is
plenty of outdoor seating. There is also a propane BBQ for grilling
your vacation feasts, a hammock for taking it easy in the shade,
and a fire pit for evening campfires, marshmallow roasting and sharing
stories. There is a sandbox for the younger children and one adult
bike and one child’s bike for your use during your stay.
It’s just a short walk down the stairs to the lakeside deck
and dock where you can catch some sun, relax and take in the view.
If you prefer, go for a swim or try your hand at fishing from the
dock. The lake bottom is sandy with some rocks and stones. The water
depth at the shoreline is about 1-2 feet and at the end of the dock
it is about 5 feet deep. Do not dive off the dock and remember that
younger children always need to be supervised near water.
The cottage comes with the use of a canoe and kayak with paddles to explore the lake. Renters should bring their own lifejackets.
Many of your basic day-to-day shopping needs are available in Eugenia at the Top of the Rock grocery/LCBO store, Eugenia Emporium, or the Jable Food Basket.
