Rental Unit is the lower level of this cottage. No access to the
upper floors for your rental.
This year round waterfront cottage is located a short drive from
Midland and Penetanguishene. It features panoramic views of Georgian
Bay, morning sunrises and a beautiful sandy beach for a comfortable
and relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage comprises the lower level of a
two level residence. The lower level is a walk-out level with plenty
of large bright windows and is a completely self-contained living
There is something for everyone to do whether it is lazy days in
the sun while taking occasional dips in the bay or heading out to
enjoy the many local events and attractions. The Midland/ Penetanguishene
area is a favourite holiday destination.
There is parking at the front of the cottage and the entrance to
the cottage is just a short walk down the large flagstone walkway
to the rear of the cottage overlooking the sparkling waters of Georgian
Inside there is a spacious open living room, dining area, kitchen
and cozy sitting area with woodstove, all with plenty of windows
providing beautiful water views.
In the living room there is a 42” satellite TV and DVD/CD
player. With one regular sofa and one large wrap-around sofa there
is plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy a family movie night or
watch the game. Two cozy occasional chairs in front of the woodstove
provide a relaxed sitting area. In the dining area there is a table
and seating for up to 9 people. The kitchen is well equipped with
a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker,
kettle, tea pot, blender, and dishes and cutlery.
There are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed
and a large window with fantastic bay views to wake up to each morning.
The second bedroom has a double bed and the third has two sets of
bunkbeds and a single bed perfect for the kids. The bathroom is
a 3 piece with shower, toilet, and sink.
Immediately outside your entrance door is a lovely flagstone patio
with a covered area if you are looking for shade and an uncovered
area if you want sun. The patio is a great spot for taking advantage
of the bay view, watching passing boats, catching up with your family
members, and relaxing with a good book and/or your favourite holiday
There is a propane BBQ for grilling up some BBQ feasts, and a patio
table. After you have grilled your favourite vacation meal you can
sit down to enjoy a family outdoor dinner while overlooking beautiful
The large grassed yard leads down to the shore and is a great place
for kids to play. Be sure to bring your outdoor yard games. It’s
just a short stroll to the lovely private sand beach.
The large beach is a great spot any time of day. You can catch some
rays or relax in the shade with a good book and take in the great
panoramic view of the aqua blue bay water. The covered dining shelter
with concrete patio at the shore provides shade and the perfect
spot for enjoying waterfront meals.
The shoreline is sandy and the water depth increases gradually for
swimming or just splashing around. The lake bottom is a sand/gravel
mix with some rocks (water shoes are recommended). This is also
a great spot to launch your canoe or kayak if you have one.
If not there is a kayak and paddle boat available for your use at
the cottage. On the beach there is a fire pit available for evening
campfires, taking in the starry night sky, roasting marshmallows,
and stories at the end of the day.
If you want to get out and explore the area, the cottage is close
to many attractions. It’s under 10 minutes to Awenda Provincial
Park where you will find several beautiful and natural beaches on
the Georgian Bay shoreline, hiking and biking trails, and relaxing
picnicking opportunities, only 20 minutes from downtown Penetanguishene
and 30 minutes to downtown Midland where you will find plenty of
shopping, dining, and sightseeing opportunities. Golf at one of
several the local golf courses, experience the 30,000 Islands with
a trip on the Miss Midland or the Georgian Queen both sightseeing
and dinner cruises available.
Visit some of the many historically significant and interesting
sites: the Martyr's Shrine, St. Marie-Among-the-Hurons - a restored
native village, Discovery Harbour - a 19th century British military
base with tall ships, King's Warf Theatre to take in a live play,
Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre and Elmvale Zoo - great fun for kids,
the Tay and Tiny hiking and biking trails.
