This all season, 3,000 square foot, two storey, five bedroom, four bathroom waterfront cottage can accommodate up to 10 persons. It is set well back from the road overlooking the aqua blue waters of Georgian Bay and has all the comforts of home. This cottage makes a marvelous vacation choice for families or small groups looking for a comfortable and relaxing get-a-away.
You will love the large open living space on the main level with pine floors and plenty of large bright windows that offer great water views. On entering the cottage you will be welcomed by a bright dining area with a unique harvest table that easily seats eight persons, you can add spectacular views to each meal menu.
At one end of the dining area is a fully equipped kitchen with island
seating for three people. The kitchen includes a fridge, stove,
oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and plenty
of dishes and cutlery for your meals. There are patio doors from
both the kitchen and the dining area leading to the large rear deck.
At the other end of the dining room is a comfortable living room
with a large picture window, sofa and chair, 35” satellite
TV and CD/DVD player. There is a DVD & VHS library, video games,
Nintendo and Play Station available for your enjoyment. The large
wall of windows on the main level creates amazing panoramic water
views from the entire kitchen, dining and living room area.
There are two bedrooms, one bathroom and laundry on the main level of the cottage. One of the two bedrooms is setup as a computer room with a double bed pull-out sofa and the other bedroom is setup as a TV sitting room with a 20" TV and a single bed pull-out sofa. The main level bathroom is a 4 piece (sink, toilet, tub and shower). There is a washer and dryer in the laundry.
On the upper level of the cottage there are three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The first bedroom has a king bed, vaulted pine ceiling with skylight, patio door to a private upper level deck with water view and a 4 piece (sink, toilet, bidet, shower) ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has queen waterbed, large bright windows and 4 piece (sink, toilet, shower and tub) ensuite bathroom. The third bedroom has bunk beds and a patio door to a private upper level deck. The upper level bathroom is a 2 piece (sink,toilet).
The large rear deck area gives a great vantage point to gaze out over the garden while taking in the water view and enjoying the fresh air. On the deck there is a propane BBQ for your outdoor grilling.
After you have grilled your favourite vacation meal on the BBQ, you can sit down to enjoy a family outdoor dinner at the patio table with umbrella and 6 chairs. Step down to the boardwalk leading to a second deck near the shore with patio table, umbrella and 4 chairs. There are also 4 additional deck chairs. The decks offer spectacular views of the bay and are great for catching some sun, socializing, relaxing with your book and/or favourite vacation beverage.
Take the steps down from the shore deck to the large L-shaped dock. If you have a boat, the dock can accommodate a 20 foot boat. The L-shape of the dock creates a sheltered sandy bottom entry into the water where the water depth increases gradually for swimming or just splashing around. This is also a great spot to launch your canoe or kayak if you have one.
There is a fire pit at the cottage for evening campfires, roasting marshmallows while taking in the starry night sky and a hammock for relaxing in the shade.
The Midland/ Penetanguishene area is a favourite holiday destination. If you want to get out and explore the area, the cottage is close to many attractions. It’s about 5 minutes to Thunder Beach, about 15 minutes to Awenda Provincial Park where you will find several beautiful and natural beaches on the Georgian Bay shoreline, hiking and biking trails, and relaxing picnicking opportunities, and about 20 minutes from downtown Penetanguishene and downtown Midland where you will find plenty of shopping, dining, and sightseeing opportunities. Golf at one of several the local golf courses, experience the 30,000 Islands with a trip on the Miss Midland or the Georgian Queen both sightseeing and dinner cruises available. Visit some of the many historically significant and interesting sites: the Martyr's Shrine, St. Marie-Among-the-Hurons - a restored native village, Discovery Harbour - a 19th century British military base with tall ships, King's Warf Theatre to take in a live play, Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre and Elmvale Zoo - great fun for kids, the Tay and Tiny hiking and biking trails.
