Private, peaceful 1000 plus 100 sq ft, 3 + 1 bedroom cottage located
on Porcupine Point, on Dorcas Bay, Lake Huron. Nestle into this
cottage, tucked among the cedars, to enjoy your break from the hustle
and bustle of the city.
Take the few steps up to the side door and enter into the cottage. In the efficient kitchen you'll find many of the amenities of home including fridge, stove/oven, microwave and more for your convenience. The dining table offers seating for six to enjoy a sit-down meal together with a ceiling fan overhead.
In the living room space there are two couches and a coffee table
(perfect for board games!) and a 27" TV with DVD player for
your movie-watching entertainment. A ceiling fan is also overhead.
Tucked in the opposite corner of the space is a wood stove that
can help heat the cottage in cooler weather.
There are three bedrooms - one with a queen bed, second with a
double bed and an infant crib and the third bedroom offers a single bunkbed, perfect for the kids. The additional bedroom is in a separate bunkie with a double bed. The bunkie is very cozy and will be the main attraction for teens and young adults. The bathroom
is a three-piece with a shower.
Patio doors from the living space lead out to the deck, where you'll find a patio table with umbrella and four chairs in addition to a propane BBQ for cooking up a great summer meal. Down on the yard is a fire pit that is perfect for your family campfires, as well as Muskoka chairs that are ideal for lounging in the sun, sitting by the campfire, or enjoying your favourite beverage in the fresh air.
The area along the shoreline has been left natural, but you can
make your way along the grasses and vegetation to the shore. The
shoreline itself is made up of flat rock and rubble. Entry is gradual
with deeper water the further out you go for good swimming opportunities.
A fantastic public sandy beach, called Singing Sands, is an easy
8.5 km drive away from the cottage. A great beach for kids to play
in the sand and to splash and play in the shallow waters.
The cottage is just a 15 minute drive into the village of Tobermory where you can walk along the scenic harbourfront, eat in the restaurants, shop at the local stores, and take boat cruises out on the water. Visit Bruce Peninsula National Park and hike the trails to see what you can discover!
