It’s not your imagination. You have stumbled upon “the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow” -- Paradise Cove Cottage. This enchanting 1800 sq. ft. log home is modern-built on a Lake Huron beach (no road in-between), on 64 acres of scenic private property with forested trails, featuring 1,200 feet of beachfront, facing some of the world’s most spectacular sunsets over the water. Paradise Cove Cottage is only a 12-minute drive from the great restaurants, shopping and attractions of Port Elgin (and just a few more minutes to Southampton).
Families and friends will connect in the open-concept spaciousness of the great room, with hardwood floors throughout. The main living room features an 18’ cathedral ceiling and sky light, a 46” HD TV & DVD, wood fireplace, and large windows with a view of the lake. If you have kids in your group and they want to get away and relax on their own, there is a second living area in the gorgeous sunroom with a gas fireplace and a 37" HD TV & DVD with a separate satellite receiver.
The fully-outfitted kitchen is designed to present the charming
ambiance of a pioneer log kitchen with the butcher-block island,
the country farm sink, and the antique-looking cookstove effectively
disguising that it is actually an electric replica. Hidden from
view is the adjacent walk-in pantry that acts as an “appliance
garage” with an abundance of receptacles and shelves so you
don’t need to move the small appliances out to use them. On
the pantry shelves you’ll find: a convection oven, 2 microwaves,
2 four-slice toasters, coffee maker, food processor, Magic Bullet,
Mixmaster and wide array of other small appliances.
An oak dining table and 6 leather chairs are in the dining room. Outside on the front deck you will find a teak dining table set with 6 wicker chairs and 4 living chairs (+ 14 folding chairs and 2 folding tables available to set up extra dining capacity for a “special occasion” gathering).
The cottage has 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms: 1 king bed, 3 queen
beds, plus 2 new standard single mattresses for 2 youngsters to
camp on the floor anywhere. Three of the four bedrooms have HD TVs
and bathrooms adjacent. In addition to the central air conditioning,
tall pedestal fans are also provided for each of the bedrooms.
The Master Bedroom (in sunroom, separate wing on main floor) is where you can cuddle up on the loveseat in front of the cozy gas fireplace. The glass ceiling makes overhead star-gazing in the dark from inside the bedroom an unexpected romantic delight. Also:a 37” HD TV (with DVD); a surround of tall screened windows; a ceiling fan; and an ensuite bathroom (with a stand-up shower in a dual soaker tub, and a handheld shower).
Water slope is gradual, suitable for swimming and small boating (no dock). The waterfront has sandy beach areas, pebble beach areas, and round-rock areas. (Water shoes recommended.) The owner has provided a small boat with paddles; also a “Sit-On-Top” Kayak built for 2; boogie bodyboards; horseshoes, volleyball/badminton court & equipment on the beach; and an assortment of other toys & games.
On a hot day, enjoy a peaceful stroll through this forest along easy-walking trails -- You’ll find the shade and coolness of the tree canopy to be a pleasant break from the sunny beach. Relax in the high-quality outdoor furniture on the spacious front deck and marvel at the glorious full view of Lake Huron and a front-row seat for the magnificent sunsets. In the evening, gather in the 10 Muskoka chairs on the beach to roast treats around a fire, while star-gazing at the awesome night sky, unobstructed by town lights.
You can also take a walk over to the adjacent MacGregor Point Provincial Park (3,000 acres), featuring sand beaches, groomed bicycle trails, boardwalks, hiking trails, renowned bird-watching venues and a look-out tower.
DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY: to watch deer graze in your yard; watch the resident Bald Eagles swoop along this cove’s shoreline; and bring nuts to hand-feed the friendly chipmunks. Book now to enjoy your next vacation in this nature-lover’s paradise!
