With 5,000 square foot, 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, plus a private guest suite and over 150 feet of shoreline, this well appointed cottage provides ample amenities and space to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing get-away.
The cottage is located in the Beaver Valley about 2 hours from the
Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and a short drive away from the shops,
boutiques, pubs, antiques and eateries in Thornbury, and amazing
art galleries in Clarksburg. Enjoy live performances at Meaford
Hall or the amenities of historic downtown Collingwood and the Blue
Mountain Village Resort where you will find many more shopping,
dining, entertainment, arts & culture events including festivals
The 3-level luxury cottage is fully equipped and attractively furnished. The massive log walls, posts and beams, fireplaces, gleaming pine floors and plenty of large bright windows provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
When you enter the cottage, on the main level you will be greeted
by a spacious open great room with a soaring vaulted ceiling and
chandelier lighting, dining area and kitchen. The great room features
a floor to ceiling stone wood burning fireplace, 50” TV, Blu-Ray
DVD, CD, WiFi, a large comfortable u-shaped sofa that makes a great
conversation area. Patio doors lead to the outside rear deck that
offers magnificent views of Lake Eugenia.
The dining area easily seats 10 people and there is seating for
7 more at the kitchen island. Cook simple fare to gourmet in the
modern custom kitchen that is fully equipped and features stainless
steel appliances including two refrigerators, and a live-edge wood
On the main level there is a master bedroom with a queen bed, patio door to the rear deck and a 5 piece ensuite bathroom with a double sink vanity, jacuzzi tub, shower, toilet and bidet. On the main level there is also a 2 piece sink/toilet bathroom and laundry room with a washer, dryer and sink.
On the upper level there are 3 bedrooms with queen beds.
One bedroom has a 3 piece sink, toilet, shower ensuite bathroom. There is also an upper level 5 piece bathroom with a double sink vanity, tub/shower, toilet and bidet, and a cozy reading area with 2 chairs and coffee table.
On the lower level there are 2 bedrooms with queen beds and patio
doors to the rear ground level patio. One of the bedrooms also has
a bunkbed. The lower level also features a home theatre room with
a projector TV, bar, fireplace with 32” TV over the mantle,
a billiard table and an exercise room. There is also a 3 piece sink,
toilet, shower bathroom on the lower level.
A private, fully self-contained guest suite with bright windows
can be accessed from the main level of the cottage. The guest suite
includes an open kitchen, dining and living area. The kitchen has
stainless steel appliances and the dining area easily seats 6 people.
In the living area there is a 32” TV, electric fireplace and
a fold out futon couch. There is also a bedroom with bunkbeds and
a 3 piece sink, toilet and shower bathroom.
Outside, the elevated rear deck is perfect for outdoor dining, catching some sun, taking advantage of the beautiful lake view, socializing, relaxing with your book and/or favourite vacation beverage. It’s also a great spot for the early birds in your group to catch the morning sunrise.
There is a propane BBQ for grilling summer feasts, a patio table with umbrella and 6 chairs. There are also 7 loungers and 4 muskoka chairs. The covered gazebo on the deck has a a lounge-like feel where you can sit and enjoy the lake view. It has seating for 8 people and has a table that doubles as a cooler when needed. The rear grassed yard is a great place for kids to play and there is a firepit for evening campfires, and marshmallow roasting. It’s just a short walk to the shore where you will find a sandy beach area where the water depth increases gradually for swimming or just splashing around.
This would also make a great spot to launch your canoe or kayak
if you have your own. If not, no worries there is a kayak with paddles,
2 paddle boards and 19 lifejackets (15 adult and 4 children) available
for your use to explore the lake. There are also 1 adult and 2 kids
bikes for your use. At the shore the 35 foot dock is ideal for relaxing,
enjoying the lake view, or slip into the water for a swim. The water
depth at the end of the dock is about 4 feet.
Many of your basic day-to-day shopping needs are available in Eugenia
at the Top of the Rock grocery/LCBO/movie rentals store (5 minute
walk) or the Jable Food Basket (15 minute walk). A short drive away
are the quaint villages of Eugenia, Kimberly, Flesherton and Markdale
where you can pick up fresh groceries, beer/wine, ice cream and
old fashioned treats. For the foodies be sure to check out the Flying
Chestnut (Eugenia) or the Flying Spatula (Flesherton) and the many
Collingwood and Thornbury restaurants.
Whatever your vacation style, you will find plenty to see and do. Take your camera and explore the beauty of Eugenia Falls and Hogg’s Falls. Visit one of the area famers markets - they are a great place to buy local. Stop in at a local winery or cidery. Try fishing or canoeing. Stroll the streets of the heritage towns and villages in the area and explore unique gift, antique shops, and artist and artisan galleries. Bring your fat tires for the country gravel roads, single-track trail riding. Bring your skinny tires for some of the best road riding in Ontario.
