‘View Of The Lake’
The ‘View Of The Lake’ cottage is part of the Grandview Lakeside Community Club, a cottage community nestled on Grandview Point at the site of the former Grandview Lodge Resort on Sparrow Lake in the popular Muskoka tourist region.
This 2 storey, 1500 sq. ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage offers
a perfect combination of your own private cottage and all of the
recreational amenities of a summer waterfront resort. (Upper floor
of the cottage, with an additional bedroom and bathroom, will
be unavailable and vacant during your stay.)
With this cottage you also enjoy access to over 1800 feet of waterfront, recreational amenities for all ages including a heated pool, tennis and beach volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, club house (with table tennis and shuffleboard and card tables), children’s play equipment, fire pit, docks and lovely sand beach, all the ingredients for a memorable summer vacation.
The cottage is situated midway between Orillia and Gravenhurst, and only a 90 minute drive from Toronto. Sparrow Lake is part of the historic Trent-Severn Waterway offering miles of fabulous boating between Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay.
On arriving at the property you will see a large sign with a ‘Map of the Grounds’, follow the cottage road past the children’s play area and along the waterfront to the cottage. The cottage is the second of four cottages along the shore at the end of the road. You will recognize it by its white siding, screened in front deck and ‘View Of The Lake’ cottage name sign.
You enter the cottage through the screened in front deck. Inside the cottage there is an enclosed sunroom. The front deck and sunroom both offer great spots to sit and relax, enjoy the morning sunrises, or catch up with friends and family while taking in the beautiful lake views. Patio doors from the sunroom lead to an open living, dining and kitchen area with plenty of large bright windows.
In the kitchen area you will find all the necessary amenities - a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig, blender, toaster, kettle, coffeemaker, and dishes and cutlery. The dining table seats 8 people and the living room area there is a 32” satellite TV, CD player and BluRay DVD, couch and chairs.
On the main level there are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. Each
of these bedrooms has a set of single over double bunkbeds. Each
has a window, one offering a nice water view.
The bathroom on the main level is a 3-piece sink, toilet and shower.
Outside the cottage there is a propane BBQ for grilling up some great outdoor meals and lakefront picnic table and chairs. At the lake there are docks and a boat launch. If you have your own boat, you are just steps away from the canoe/kayak dock (Bayview Dock) and you will have your own slip at the larger dock (Ski Dock). Everywhere along the shore is ideal for catching the morning sunrise, taking in the views of the lake and islands, or boat-watching the watercraft making their way through the Trent-Severn Waterway. The sand beach is a great spot to catch some rays or swim out to the floating dock. The water depth increases very gradually and is ideal for non-swimmers and children.
A short drive away are the towns of Gravenhurst and Orillia - with a wide variety of shopping, dining, entertainment, arts & culture events and attractions.
