Note: Many of the pictures on this web page have been
taken using a 16 mm wide angle lens. We use this lens to show as much detail
as possible in each of the rooms of the cottage. This makes the rooms seem
larger than they really are.
Please Note: The water levels in Ontario have been fluctuating in recent years. Therefore, some of the photographs of shorelines/beaches on this website may not fully reflect current waterfront conditions.
Muskoka waterfront cottage on scenic Mary Lake!
Just 2 hours from Toronto and 15 minutes to downtown Huntsville, this all season classic Muskoka Panabode log cottage offers terrific views of Mary Lake and the serenity of cottage life yet only minutes away from area shopping, dining, entertainment and attractions.
The Muskoka region is a popular holiday destination and this cottage makes for a comfortable and relaxing family vacation any time of the year.
The well maintained waterfront cottage is about 1,000 sq. ft. with a log interior that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, 100 feet of shoreline, lakefront deck and incredible sunsets.
The cottage is set back about 40 feet from a quiet tree lined cottage road with parking conveniently located near the front entry door to the cottage.
Inside the cottage is much larger than it first appears with an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.
The living area has a vaulted pine ceiling, exposed beams and two large bright picture windows. One looks out to the side yard of the cottage and the other is positioned to take advantage of the beautiful lake view.
There is a wood burning fireplace, 21’ satellite TV, DVD player, two sofas, an ottoman and two chairs for relaxing, and a ceiling fan to help circulate air on warmer days. At meal time the kitchen bar between the living and kitchen areas has seating for four and the patio table on the outside deck seats six.
The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea pot, kettle, blender, dishes and cutlery. There is a window over the sink in the kitchen looking out to the side yard of the cottage.
Each of the three bedrooms at the cottage has large windows to let in the breeze. Two bedrooms have queen beds and the third has a single over double bunk bed. The bathroom at the cottage is a three piece sink, toilet and shower.
Outside and accessible from a door in the living area is an elevated rear deck. The rear deck is the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet morning coffee, take in the fresh air, relax with a good book, or catch-up with friends and family.
There is a propane gas BBQ for grilling up some BBQ feasts, and a patio table, with an umbrella and 6 chairs. After you have grilled your favourite vacation meal you can sit down to enjoy a family outdoor dinner while overlooking picturesque Mary Lake.
The cottage is nestled on a hill overlooking the lake and it’s just a short stroll to the water but the slope on the hill down to the waterfront will be challenging for individuals with poor mobility. At the shore there is a fire pit available for evening campfires, taking in the starry night sky, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories at the end of the day with the sounds of the lake gently lapping at the shore.
There is a lake side deck where you can take in the lake view and spectacular sunsets, watch passing boats, catch up with family members, and relax with a good book and/or your favourite holiday beverage.
There are 4 Muskoka chairs, 3 loungers and a hammock for relaxing. There is also a boat house with a 30 foot dock (Note: the boat house is for the owners use only but the dock is available for your use). Because of the large stones along the shore the ladder on the boat house dock should be used to enter the water for swimmimg. Water depth at the ladder entry is 1-2 feet increasing to about 5 feet at the end of the dock. If you have a boat the dock can accommodate a 24 foot boat. There are 2 kayaks with paddles and 2 adult life jackets available for you to explore the lake.
Just a leisurely 5 minute walk away is the 200 acre Muskoka Bible Conference and Retreat Centre. For a small fee daily or weekly passes can be purchased at the front reception desk to use the sand beach, recreational and dining facilities. This cottage is the perfect place to relax but if want to get out and explore the area, it’s just a short drive to the quaint village of Port Sydney where there is a sand beach and children’s playground. You can also dine out at Mary’s Lakeside Grill or try the Heart of Muskoka Fries in Port Sydney.
The Towns of Huntsville, Bracebridge and Gravenhurst with shopping, dining, entertainment and attractions are all within an easy drive making this cottage a great home-base for exploring the Muskoka region.
