STONEY LAKE COTTAGE
Stoney Lake is one of three interconnected lakes in the Kawartha
Lakes cottage region about 30 minutes north-east from the city
of Peterborough. The Kawartha Lakes form part of the Trent-Severn
Waterway connecting Lake Ontario with Georgian Bay.
Located in a peaceful setting in a sheltered cove on the northerly
shore of Stoney Lake, this 1600 sq. ft. three bedroom, two bathroom
waterfront cottage features 100 feet of private shoreline and is
the perfect spot for a comfortable and relaxing family vacation.
Inside the cottage the large open plan living, dining and kitchen
area is a great space for your whole group to come together to share
time with each other and make vacation memories.
The living room with its wall of large bright windows provides great
waterfront views and there is plenty of space and flexible seating
options, a 32" satellite TV, Internet, CD and DVD player, and
wood stove. The dining table easily seats 6 persons and there are
2 kitchen island stools. Take in the lovely lake views while you
enjoy your meal or morning coffee. The efficient kitchen area is
well equipped with dishes, cutlery, fridge/freezer, stove, oven,
microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, coffee maker and tea pot.
In addition to the large open living, dining and kitchen area there
is a separate sitting area off the dining area, with large bright
windows, great views, and a comfortable couch and coffee table where
you can cozy up with your favourite book. A door from the sitting
area leads to a small private deck overlooking the water and surrounding
forest. There is also a large screened-in sunroom with a patio table,
8 chairs and great water views where you can enjoy outdoor dining.
A door from the sunroom leads to the rear deck with 2 Muskoka chairs
and a lounger that makes the perfect spot to take in the fresh air,
enjoy a good book and summer beverage or simply take in the panoramic
view. There is also a propane BBQ for grilling your favourite summer
There are three bedrooms all with windows. Two of the bedrooms each
have one queen bed and the third bedroom has two single beds. There
are two bathrooms each with a sink, toilet and shower. There is
also a laundry room with a washer and dryer for your convenience
during your stay at the cottage and a small office area if you need
a place to catch up on some work.
A short distance from the rear deck, overlooking the water, is a
small sand play area and a fire pit area with 6 Muskoka chairs and
a hammock for relaxing in the shade during the day and for evening
campfires while taking in the night sky, roasting marshmallows,
and sharing stories at the end of the day with the sounds of the
lake gently lapping at the shore.
From the cottage it’s a short walk down stone steps to either
one of the two docks at the water’s edge. Both docks are perfect
for socialize with friends and family, sitting and relaxing, working
on your tan, or try your hand at fishing from the dock. Water depth
at the end of the docks is about 5 feet. One dock can used for your
boat if you have one, the other dock features a large deck area
with 2 sets of patio tables, umbrellas and chairs where you can
relax, take in the lake view and catch up with family members or
enjoy a waterside meal/snack.
There is easy access to local villages and towns along the Trent-Severn
Waterway by car - or by boat - including Lakefield, Young’s
Point, Buckhorn and Bobcaygeon that offer restaurants, galleries,
antique shops, convenience and grocery stores, as well as Locks
where you can boat watch.
