"Whippoorwill Cottage" is a three bedroom modern, recently built cottage. It is located inland on Whippoorwill Bay. There is a public access across the road from the cottage for swimming.
The village of Lion's Head is a quick 7 minute drive away, where
there is a great public sandy beach in the village that has washroom
facilities, a playground and a swim raft.
This stylish cottage is located on a lot with hardwood forest, and while it does have a cottage on one side of it, there is good screening with heavy forest on other sides.
On the driveway side of the cottage there is a 150 square foot deck. This is a nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee first thing in the morning.
The property has a nice large grassy area for children to run around and play safely ( in the back yard ). A fire pit with seating is also located in this area.
The living and kitchen area are open concept at the cottage. The
kitchen area has a microwave and dishwasher with lots of cupboard
and counter space. A nice size dining table with seating for six
is here as well. Adjacent is the open living area, with cathedral
ceilings, opening up to the loft sitting area. On this level, a
convenient two piece bathroom is located just inside the rear entrance
of the cottage.
The living area is tastefully decorated and has a comfortable couch
and love seat. There is also an electric fireplace in this area
with built in television.
The second storey of this cottage is made up of large windows allowing beaming sunshine to flow through the loft and the entire first floor below.
The cottage has three bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the main
floor with a 4 piece ensuite with soaker tub, Nice windows provide
a lovely atmosphere.
Bedrooms two and three are located upstairs with a 3 piece bathroom
with shower.
Bedroom Two has a queen bed and a neat little "kids hideout"
built into the wall with sliding door. Let your child's imagination
run wild in this adorable little kids area. All bedrooms have USB
device chargers on night tables.
The back yard has a nice size private deck with propane BBQ for
you to enjoy.
There are number of unidentified shipwrecks in Lion’s Head Harbour; the most shallow is a 42-metre long schooner that can be easily seen from a kayak. Looking out from the Lion’s Head Beach you can see Point Hangcliffe, the highest section of this section of the escarpment, and farther along, at the end, you can detect the outline of the famous lion’s head. There is excellent deep water fishing for salmon and trout in the area.
Lion's Head and this cottage are the perfect match for your next
family vacation!
