Grace House is a private retreat located about 30 kilometers south
of Owen Sound on a 120 acre wildlife preserve. The home is situated
on its own lake.
An elegant new salt-water, heated swimming pool surrounded by
a stone patio now graces the front of the completely renovated house.
This unique, architect-designed home features a gorgeous 32 ft high central atrium and massive skylight, providing natural lighting for the living areas. Along with the large heated swimming pool and large decks surrounding the exterior, the home includes a formal living room and dining rooms, gourmet kitchen, family room with home theatre, a private chapel, and wireless hookup to high-speed satellite internet. The interior of the home is spacious and welcoming.
Grace House's renovated kitchen is a cook's delight, with the bonus
of relaxing, expansive views out to the lake. The kitchen has Paderno
cookware, a deep farm-style sink, Dacor microwave, massive side
by side refrigerator/freezer, Miele stovetop, double oven and dishwasher
- all finished in modern stainless steel. Counters are all granite
Five bedrooms are available for use. Two bedrooms have en-suite
marble bathrooms with glass showers and closet space. A third
bedroom, located on the main floor, features heritage furniture and a marble
ensuite bathroom, with a glorious walk-out onto the covered wooden
deck (with hammock) via a sliding door.
The cottage has a kayak and canoe for your use on the lake. There are also 2 fire
pits for your group's campfire songs and marshmallow
The house is located on a large hardwood lot. The front of the cottage
is grass covered and gradually slopes down to the shore where the
wooden dock is located. The shoreline has a shallow entry with soft
silty bottom which does not make it ideal for swimming. The lake
is not known to be good for fishing but fishing is available in
the neighbouring lakes.
The peaceful setting is a year-round naturalist's delight. The
Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources has designated Wagner Lake,
and the immediate lands surrounding it, as a protected conservation
area. Grace House is suitable for individuals, but particularly
so for families and small business, civic and religious gatherings
who wish to experience the restoring peace of nature in unusual
comfort and style.
You can also enjoy kayaking nearby on the Beaver River, walk or
bike the Blue Mountain Trail system or spend an afternoon on the
Thornbury Cider Tour.
NOTE: The musical instruments in the home are not for the renters
use (piano and organ specifically).
