Cottage Profile
Renovated, 1300 square foot, 4 bedroom cottage located on a quiet
dead end road at the tip of the Bruce on the dividing line between
Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. This cottage is just 9 km from
the village of Tobermory and all the activities it has to offer.
The outside of this cottage has three large decks, with two on
the lake side. The upper deck by the cottage has a glass patio table
and six chairs for your dining enjoyment. Also on this deck is a
four person hot tub. This a great place to enjoy the nightly sunset
that sets directly in front of the cottage during July - August.
A short boardwalk towards the lake leads to a lakeside deck - this
deck has four Muskoka chairs and a great view of the lake. A 60
foot board walk leads from this deck down to the lake. At the lake
is a natural flat limestone patio. Entry into the lake is about
two feet deep with great swimming.
Also by the lake is a fire pit with which you can enjoy roasting
marshmallows while watching the clear starry skies of the Bruce.
The cottage comes equipped with three sit-on-top kayaks. These
are great boats to explore the nooks and crannies of the surrounding
Georgian Bay shoreline.
On the road side of the cottage is the morning deck. This deck is
protected from the winds off the lake and enjoys morning sunshine.
On this deck you will find a glass table with four chairs, and a
BBQ.
All the living area of the cottage is located on one floor. The
living area has a large ten foot window and 5 foot sliding glass
doors that provide a panoramic view of the lake and island.
The focal point of the inside of the cottage is a large stone fireplace,
which is a great place to enjoy a romantic evening on the cool spring
and fall days. The living room has pine paneling and laminate floors.
It is furnished with a leather couch and love seat as well as a
recliner chair. For entertainment there is a 32" LCD TV with
satellite receiver, a stereo with an iPod jack, a CD player and
wireless internet access.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining area with wood table
and six chairs.
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with a small breakfast
bar, fridge, stove, microwave oven and plenty of cupboard and counter
space.
There are four bedrooms at the cottage - two with a queen bed,
one with a double, one with three single beds. There is one bathroom
at the cottage, a four-piece with tub/shower.
The cottage has neighbours on each side. These properties are well
screened from all the sitting areas at the cottage.
Tobermory is short distance away (9 km) on a paved road. There you
can stroll through the shops in the village, visit the restaurants
and the library and enjoy the beautiful natural harbour. You can
also take a scenic boat cruise where you can view shipwrecks, lighthouses
and visit Flowerpot Island. Also, dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun
are very popular. The sandy shores of Singing Sands Beach are just
a short drive away (13 km) and provides a perfect place for the
kids to play and swim. For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers,
the Bruce Peninsula is a dream - so many opportunities await you
during your holiday!
