The interior of the cottage is bright and airy. The cottage interior is
of an open concept design - living, dining, and kitchen areas form one
large room. The living room boasts a cathedral ceiling, a feature which
helps keep the cottage cool in summer and warm in the winter. The effect
of the ceiling and the large windows is to retain as much daylight as
possible for as long as possible. Suspended from the high ceiling is a
chandelier that holds real candles. When it is lit it provides light and
a peaceful atmosphere for the whole cottage.
There is no shortage of counter and cupboard space
in the kitchen. There is a new propane gas stove, as well as a propane
refrigerator.
The dining room has a large table and enough chairs to sit
eight comfortably.

futon and a comfortable lazy boy chair. The living area has laminate flooring
and a wood -burning stove. Firewood is provided.

size futon. Both have a night table, dresser, and reading light.
The loft is very roomy, and comfortable. It has a rocking
chair and two queen size futons. There is also a child-sized pool table.
To minimize the impact on the environment, but still
ensure our guests' comfort, the cottage has an odour-free composting
toilet inside. All you need to do is add a little peat moss.
Down by the shore you will find a horseshoe pit as well
as a firepit where you can roast marshmallows while listening to the waves
lap against the shore.
If you hike north along the shoreline for about a half-hour
you will reach Cape Croker Tent and Trailer Park Restroom, shower and
laundry facilities are available here. This park also offers natural trails,
beach volleyball and native cultural activities - many artists and craftspeople
of the Nawash reserve can be found here.
Fresh fish, caught daily, are sold on the reserve at a location a five-minute
drive from the cottage. You will also find a convenience store a few kilometers
away.
Wiarton is a short drive away. There are many little shops in Wiarton
featuring locally-handcrafted items. Many studios/shops in the outlying
areas specialize in oil painting, woodworking, stained glass & pottery.
