Interesting family vacation spot
Reviewed by ColinAA on 08/23/2016
Cottage had beautiful wood work. Four bedrooms were all a lovely size. Wonderful wrap around patio with large table and ample chairs.. The small marina provided access to fish and swim. Bill and Bob were most helpful and courteous. Location was close to town, beaches and parks.
The one/only 3 piece bathroom made for some challenges. the cleanliness of the bathroom was poor and the kitchen was only average. The garbage and recycle containers could have been emptied more often.
Nice house but forget swimming..
Reviewed by MenkoDO on 09/02/2014
The pictures for the house and location are not up to date. When we arrived there was 'suddenly' another harbor instead of a beach. Now we were unable to swim and there wasn't even a dock.
It was also a pity that Flipkey was not open to our complaints.
The house is very nice but it can use some major furniture upgrades..
Recommend is Yes if you don't care about swimming and if you just want to go fishing (with a boat).

Quality family time

We had a great holiday. Not only was the location beautiful but the cottage was so much more than we had expected. There was lots to do in the area including beaches close by;Storybook park for the little ones and lots of restaurants and shopping. The cottage and grounds were immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean.Meeting the owners (who were born and raised in that cottage!) and learning the history of the home was an added bonus and a definite pleasure. Seeing my little granddaughter fishing for the first time ( with a rod borrowed from owner Bill) was a memory we will all enjoy for years to come. Thank you so much.

We enjoyed your beautiful cottage so much. It was wonderful to spend time with our family in such a lovely setting. It will always be a very special family memory for all of us. Thank you for everything.
Well maintained and clean cottage

Everything about this cottage was good except for the beds and couch which were uncomfortable. It was great to have laundry facilities. We were having a return to Owen Sound vacation and this location worked well for us.
Great Georgian Bay cottage.

Owen Sound Cottage is a picturesque stone structure 10 minutes from Owen Sound. The large roofed in patio areas allow you to enjoy the view over Georgian Bay in almost any weather. The cool fresh breeze over the water was a refreshing and revitalizing change from the heat and humidity further south in Ontario. We enjoyed having dockage for our boat in the marina right outside the cottage and made excursions to White Cloud Island for excellent swimming in the crystal clear water. The owners (Bill and Bob) were always available and provided helpful guidance in exploring the area. We had a great two weeks!
was a beautiful place with a beautiful view, very relaxing.

We were totally pleased with our stay.what a magnificent view from 3 sides which is hard to come by.The cottage was toally inviting and clean. Felt like we had been there before. The appeal for us was the quiet. Hope to return sometime. Because its More like a family cottage.Proably not suitable for families with small children, beacause there is a small marina on site with parking on one side of cottage.
Dream come True
Reviewed by Ragini on 01/24/2009
This was the best thing happened in my life. Last year in February, when I was surfing internet on Google to spend a week with my daughter and friends, I came across this site Rent a cottage. There were other cottages with better rate but they were all booked so finally I booked the cottage # 332 from June 28 to July 5, 2008. After looking at the pictures we all were very excited and happy with our choice. Finally, the time came and we all packed our stuff and reached there. When we saw the cottage, we were jumping up and down with excitement. My friend appreciated me and my efforts to book it. she called all her friends to say how beautiful was the place.
Whenever I use to see such kind of place in movies, I wished to win a lottary so that I can have this kind of place. Anyway, I kept my dream alive. My dream came true when I saw the pictures on website and finally stayed there for a week. I realized that you don't have to have the things to use them as there are other ways to have the experience. Like in this case, I didn't have to buy the property to fulfill my dream. I could rent it out and it was affordable.
My favorite things in and around the cottages are:
1. Bed rooms and dining area from where you can see the water.
2.The lushgreen area outside the kitchen where I used to sit in a chair with my book 'The Power of Now' and had the spiritual experience. The long, thick trees seems to be so happy that they passed their happiness to me.
3. The deck where I used to sit and watch water and ducks.
Note: The owner of the cottage has kept all the necessary things in the cottage you can think about. If people forget any small item to bring with them they don't have to worry as they will find it there.
So if you like to spend quite comfortable private time away from city, this is the best place to go. Three sides are surrounded by the water and and amazing sunrise. In short, if you love nature and like to do water sport, this is the best place to go.
