Cottage Profile
Historic Trails's End Lodge Guest House located on the very tip of
the Bruce on Tobermory's spectacular North Point. This cottage is perched
on a cliff top on some of the most beautiful shoreline in Ontario.
The guest house is a semi detached cottage, it is attached to the living
quarters of the caretaker of the lodge. But is two separate guest
houses.
Also on the property is Trail's End Lodge, where there will be other
tenants accomodating the lodge. These tenants will share the same walkway
to access the shoreline below.
The cottage has a wall of windows on the lakeside, providing a bright
environment with a nice view of the lake.
The living area has two comfortable love seats and two chairs. There
is also a CD Player here.
Adjacent to the living room is the eat in kitchen with wooden table
and chairs to sit four. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge,
stove, oven, and microwave.
Two bedrooms are located down a short hallway, both have a double bed,
and nice windows. A four piece bathroom is also down this hallway.
On the lakeside of the cottage is a large deck, from here you have
a panoramice view of Georgian Bay and all of it's many islands. Some
muskoka chairs and a picnic table and barbeque are provided for your
outside dining pleasure. The deck is for the exclusive use of the renters.
There is a second deck that offers a superb view of all the islands in Fathom Five Marine Park.
A boardwalk takes you out to the shoreline where you can access
great swimming, and beautiful sunsets. The water is a deep blue
with bright white limestone cliffs and a great view of the outer
islands of Fathom Five National under water park. This is truly
a spectacular natural place.
At the waters edge there are large limestone cliffs some shallow entry
areas, the water gets deep fast so this may not be a good place for
young children or non swimmers.
The shoreline may be difficult for young children or older people to
navigate. It would be similar in terrain to that of the Bruce Trail
on the upper peninsula.
A really nice feature about this property is, that it not only
is located in a beautiful natural setting, it is only a a short
walk to downtown Tobermory. You can stroll through the shops in
the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural
harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you view shipwrecks,
lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Also, dinner cruises aboard
the Chi-Cheemaun are very popular.
For hikers and naturalists, the area is a dream. A 10 minute drive
away, guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or
along the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Amphitheater
programs are available at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are informative
and entertaining.
This is a truly unique setting for a cottage.
