Cottage Profile
Spacious, 1500 square foot, two bedroom cottage with bunkhouse
on Isthmus Bay in Lion's Head on the shores of Georgian Bay.
There are two separate living areas at the cottage and lots of
space for everyone in the party to relax. The first living area
features vaulted ceilings, cedar wainscoting, and sliding doors
that lead to the large deck with a panoramic view of Isthmus Bay.
In this room you'll find a couch with chairs two as well as a television
with VCR and DVD player to enjoy on a rainy day. A table with four
chairs provides the ideal place for a game of cards or working on
a puzzle.
Adjacent to this room is the kitchen, which is complete with all
the amenities needed on your holiday including fridge, stove, microwave
and dishwasher. There is plenty of cupboard space and the cedar
walls create a cottage feel throughout this space. Enjoy your holiday
meals at the table with four chairs and bench seating.
The second living area is adjacent to the kitchen. This room has
plenty of comfortable seating for those wanting to get away from
the noise of the television. Enjoy a good book or an afternoon nap
after a day of sightseeing in one of the two sofas or chairs. An
angelstone fireplace and two large windows with a view of the water
create a comfortable atmosphere.
There are two bedrooms in the cottage, each finished in cedar one
with a queen sized bed and the other with two single beds. There
are two bathrooms inside the cottage, one four piece and one two
piece.
The bunkhouse is located in the upper level of the garage which
is great place for Grandparents or older children to retreat to.
It comes equipped with a kitchen, 4 piece bathroom and living area
with one double pull out couch and two single beds. A great spot
to get away and read quietly.
Enjoy the great outdoors at the cottage on the large deck with
a view of Georgian Bay. Here you'll find a patio table with five
chairs and a lounge chair to relax in and soak up the sun. Enjoy
the propane bbq for a traditional summer meal while enjoying the
beautiful view out over the water.
Access to the water is available by crossing the road. The shoreline
at the cottage is ruggedly beautiful, and here you can enjoy a campfire
while roasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. The beach
consists of round cobble stones. Once in the water the lake bottom
consists of flat limestone rock.
The cottage is located 3 km (3 minutes by car) from a sand beach
and from shopping and dining at Lion's Head. The Bruce Trail goes
right past the front of the property. You can start some great day
hikes right from your front door.
The Lion's Head beach is a great way to spend the day. This sandy
beach has a gradual entry into the water with a swim raft. Also
here at the beach there is a volleyball net, playground equipment,
and a swing set for the children.
There are also a variety of golf courses in the area. Lion's Head
has its own driving range and the Tobermory golf course has "Mini
Putt" for the children.
