Overall it was good.
If you want absolute quiet to sleep then this location may be a bit of a concern since there seems to be no insulation between floors so you'll hear footsteps / wood squeaks (assuming you will be renting the bottom floor). The existing upstairs tenant was however quiet. The actual location itself is very quiet as it sits in behind the major buildings.
Air conditioner worked great and very quiet.
All other amenities are as described.
There is no WIFI or TV as described.
There is only a very small DVD player

I agree with a lot of the previous reviews.....my husband and I recently stayed at this warehouse cottage, I agree it is in a great location close to everything & fairly quiet & clean, but I would not call it a cottage it is more of an apartment......keep in mind you are only renting the first floor .....there is a tenant living upstairs.....who has to enter their apartment in the front, which is the first floor apartments entrance & only sitting area . ......there is no other place to sit because your in a lane way/ alley way which the merchants use to get to their stores & your only view is the parking lot.....the owner supplies a t.v and great movies if only we could see them,.... the T.V is about 12 inches wide it is one of those little dvd/ tv players......& no cable ! So couldn't watch anything else....we didn't use the BBQ has it looked like it hadn't been used in awhile......

my twin lives in the States and had not seen Southampton in 35 years. We grew up camping there every summer, and I wanted to take my oldest granddaughter, who is seven, and my twin's daughter with us for a week down memory lane. The stakes were high and this flat did not disappoint!
The flat is a one minute walk to downtown, and a 5-10 minute walk to the glorious beach. We found the flat more than adequate for two children, aged 7 and 11' and two women ( of undetermined age). It was clean and had plenty of room, and we were thrilled. Although there is no outdoor space in the downstairs flat, we did not miss it at all. it is so close to everything it just doesn't matter. There is so much to do...we walked to the fantastic museum and the wonderful shopping, and toured the lighthouse on Chantry Island you see from the beach.
Thankyou for a perfect week!
Very nice cottage.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, but well-located place to ourselves and were quite pleased to have found this one. Within a short walk of many of the attractions in Southampton - including their fabulous sunsets and beach - it was also a great jumping off point for our trip to Gantry Island, canoing the Saugeen River, visiting the Bruce County Museum, exploring the natural wonders of the Bruce Peninsula, the Colingwood Caves and even checking out Wiarton Willy. All that in one week, plus several lazy afternoons at the beach. Wonderful
A great getaway

We enjoyed our proximity to everything! We were moments away from the services of downtown Southampton and a 4 minute walk to the beach. The cottage was very well equipped and had a lot of little extras. It was a memorable stay.

This is a perfect little cottage tucked away in a hidden lane way in beautiful Southampton. It is a great fine that we would like to keep a secret! We have now had the opportunity to stay in both units and loved them both.
We plan to make it our annual place to stay.

This was a very relaxing week. The cottage was very well kept and there were many amenities. A friend and I stayed the last week of August and had a nice time. The issue I had with the "cottage" is that it was more like an apartment. Also the outdoor space was actually an alley located behind the downtown stores. There is no view to speak of and we did encounter cars driving awefully close to the front door of the cottage. If I were to rent this cottage again I would take the upstairs unit as there is a nice balcony and no risk of being hit by a car!! The beach was only about a 2-5 minute walk away and there were many shops to visit. We had a great time and would recommend this cottage to anyone as long as they know its slightly unconventional.

There is now a sitting area with a love seat and small side table outside the door of the flat. The BBQ has been moved right outside on to the new flagstone "patio" with boxwood planters to keep the vehicles from getting to close to the building.
Clean and cozy

After spending one week in this flat I can tell you that it is conveniently located within a short walk of the downtown business's and the beach. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was. We found it to be a very comfortable place to relax inside. Unfortunatley there is no where to sit outside and relax, unless you want to take your chances sitting outside the front door, in the driveway.
Overall, we thought it was well worth the cost and will consider coming back again.
