Cottage Profile

This unique converted warehouse is nestled in a quiet lane behind the Main Street (High St) of Southampton.

As a tastefully renovated first floor of a former fish warehouse, this 1 bedroom is well situated to allow you to 'beach it' or tour the town. You are 2 blocks from the huge 'Canada Flag' and the beautiful sand of Southampton Beach on Lake Huron.

Whether it is a romantic get-away week or a week at the beach, you will find this lovely flat very accommodating. A parking spot for the sports car (or minivan) is steps from the front door.

You have municipal services so there are none of the septic bed and water issues that typically accompany cottages.

The interior of the home is painted stucco with wood plank flooring throughout.

The flat is an open concept, bachelor with adjoining bedroom. The living room/dining room is combined with the tv being small and the kitchen equipped with fridge, stove, and microwave. A kitchen table is also provided. It seats four (4) comfortably and doubles as the games/card table.

There is one (1) large bedroom here. Painted in soothing yellow, the bedroom features a queen bed and closet.

The washroom is a 4-piece with toilet, sink and whirlpool tub/shower.

Walk down the lane to beach and you'll find the fabulous beach and a historic boardwalk. Bring your beach umbrella or grab a coveted spot under the tree.

After a swim or when the lake winds blow, move to the solace of your ground level porch and soak up the rays there. Or enjoy that bestseller that has possessed you.

Eat in or out at the many nearby restaurants. If in, a BBQ is provided to grill up your savory summer dinner.

The warehouse is located on one of the finest sandy beaches in the area. This beach consists of fine sand and pebbles with a shallow entry point into the fresh water. Watershoes make entry even more comfortable. You can walk this shoreline and watch the famous sunsets that were a finalist for the 'Seven Natural Wonders of Canada'. Your beach view includes scenic Chantry Island, a restored 1859 Lake Huron lighthouse.

As an added bonus, all the amenities offered by downtown Southampton are within walking distance. Restaurants - walk to the Elk & Finch or Grosvenor's for fine dining.
Museums - walk to the Southampton Museum and Archives

Some of the most beautiful Lake Huron sunsets are visible from the beach shoreline.
After the sun sets, the evening skies are open and provide breathtaking views of the stars, the moon, and the whole night time sky.

If after all that you still have time for golf - there's the Chippewa course 3 minutes away or the Saugeen Golf course on County Road 3 towards Port Elgin. (Sauble and Port Elgin offer up some golf variety)

If you still need to seek other attractions, remember Thursday night is Cruise Nite! Head for the flagpole where you'll find vintage and classic cars gathered around with a view of the sunset.
Finally, the local roads around Southampton are popular with cyclists and roller bladers.

The cottage is not waterfront. However Southampton Beach is located only 2 blocks, or a five minute walk away.

This is a lovely sand beach
