Three bedroom, 1200 sq ft cottage located on the shores of Hay Bay, Lake Huron. This cottage is conveniently located just
two kilometers from Tobermory on a quiet dead end road.
The main living area of the cottage is an open concept with
the dining room, kitchen and living room in one large open space.
The sunken living area features a floor to ceiling fireplace, and
large lakeside windows and sliding glass doors with a view of Hay
Bay. The living room is furnished with a couch, and two chairs,
40" HD TV with a DVD Player and satellite hookup.
The spacious kitchen comes equipped with a food prep island, dishwasher,
range top stove, oven and microwave. There is plenty of counter
and cupboard space for all your cooking needs.
On the lake side of the kitchen is a breakfast bar which provides
extra space for dining and has a nice view of Hay Bay.
The wooden dining table will seat all six in your party comfortably.
There are three bedrooms at the cottage all located on the main
floor. The master bedroom at the cottage has a queen size bed and
sliding glass doors that lead you out to an elevated deck with a
great view of Hay Bay.
Bedroom two has a double bed, and bedroom Three has a queen. There
is also a four piece bathroom at the cottage.
A nice feature of the cottage is a large 300 square foot elevated
deck with newly installed deck glass allowing you to fully enjoy
the view of the lake. Here you will find a patio table with umbrella
and chairs. This is a great place for the family to enjoy dinner
outside after it has just been cooked on the propane bbq.
Although you don't have a perfect sunset here from the elevated
deck you will see the colours in the sky from it. Enjoy star gazing
out over Lake Huron after the sun has set.
The cottage has a 16 foot long dock, with a small sitting area
here at the end of it. Please watch your children carefully on the
dock as it is quite a drop to the water.
The shoreline at the cottage is a flat limestone, the entry into
the water is gradual with good swimming. Swim shoes are recommended.
Tobermory is short distance away (2km) , where you can stroll through the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Also, dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are very popular.
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream. A 10 minute drive away, guided tours are available along the Niagara Escarpment, or along the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron. Amphitheater programs are available at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are informative and entertaining.
This is a great family cottage.
