A great natural setting and serenity is what this 1000 square foot cottage has to offer you and your family. Nestled in wooded surroundings, this cottage is situated on Cape Hurd, on the Lake Huron side of the Bruce Peninsula, and is just a short drive to Tobermory.
There is approximately 300 square feet of deck space for you to enjoy, where you'll find a propane barbeque so you can sit at the patio table and chairs and enjoy a tasty summer BBQ as the sun sets in the backdrop. Four Muskoka chairs at the cottage also offer a great spot for you to take a seat with a good book or for the intention of catching some sunshine. Head across the cottage grounds to the shoreline and you'll see the dock that extends for a distance and ends with a seating area (the perfect spot to prop up some chairs and take in the view). The water is too low for this dock to be of use for mooring boats, but provides a good 'walkway' out to the nice sitting area.
Please note that the path down to the dock and shoreline is rugged. At the start there is a very shallow 'lagoon' that is approximately 50 feet wide. To get to the deeper water that is more suited to adult swimming, just cross the lagoon to the water on the other side.
Inside the cottage, the kitchen provides many of the amenities of home including fridge with freezer, stove/oven, and microwave. A dining table with chairs is located by a bright window letting in plenty of natural light. The living room area is just adjacent to this and has a large fireplace, an HD television with satellite, a DVD player and of course some comfortable seating so that you can relax after an adventurous day or curl up on a cooler evening.
This cottage has 3 cozy bedrooms, two rooms with a double bed each and a third bedroom with a set of single bunkbeds. There is one 4-piece bathroom at the cottage and a washer and dryer are available at the cottage for your convenience.
For your enjoyment, a canoe with paddles (and lifejackets) are available for your use. To enhance your stay, a wetsuit and snorkel gear are being offered to you from the Divers Den in Tobermory for the length of your stay. During the evenings, enjoy a warm fire at the outdoor firepit, and recount the day's events while roasting marshmallows.
Tobermory is short distance away (9 km), where you can stroll through
the shops in the village, visit the library, restaurants and the
beautiful natural harbour, or take a scenic boat cruise where you can
view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot Island. Also, dinner
cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are very popular.
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream.
A 10 minute drive away, guided tours are available along the Niagara
Escarpment, or along the sandy shores of Singing Sands on Lake Huron.
Amphitheater programs are available at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are
informative and entertaining.
This is a great family cottage. |
