and experience landscapes shaped by geologic processes – the
Singhampton Moraine, the vertical Niagara Escarpment limestone cliffs,
picturesque river valleys and farm fields. Especially enjoyable
during the fall colours!
This is a secluded two bedroom retreat located on a working 200
acre farm property within 200m of the Mad River, the Bruce Trail
and the Devil’s Glen Provincial Park (http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/devi.html)
hiking trails located near in the hills of Blue Mountain uplands
of Simcoe and Grey County. The owner also has groomed walking trails
on the property.
The cabin and nearby area is a nature lover’s paradise and
its location gives it good privacy.
The open concept living rooms area is warm, and rustic with exposed
red brick walls, natural wood plank roof and brick thresholds. There
is a 27’ TV with an ExpressVu satellite connection to ensure
many interesting channels after the sun sets. Walk out the sliding
glass door to the BBQ.
The kitchen is fully outfitted with stove, microwave, refrigerator
and plenty of cupboard and counter space. It includes a relaxed
country dining table, desk sitting area and adjacent sitting alcove.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms or sleeping areas. The main bedroom
has a queen bed. This sleeping area is partitioned from the living
area by a divider. Bedroom 2 is a curtained off area adjacent to
the dining area. It has a set of single bunkbeds in it.
The bathroom, adjacent to the main bedroom, has a clawfoot soaking
tub, shower, toilet and sink,
For those cool or romantic evenings, there is a large hot tub sheltered
beneath the driving shed.
If you are looking for a secluded setting, this 200-acre property
will meet your needs.NOTE: on the property, there is another rental
farmhouse approximately 100 feet to the west of this cottage. If
you need to take a trip to Town to pick up supplies, it is only
a 20 minute drive to the Town of Collingwood.
For the foodies in the group, Singhampton is where Michael Stadtlander
has his newest dining venue, the 30 seat Haisai restaurant, a very
creative, local, organic, and seasonal food experience. Other nearby
dining includes Mylar and Loretta’s, Stadtlander’s Eigensinn
and the many Creemore, Collingwood and Thornbury restaurants.
Travel 17 km to Creemore to experience the traditional Creemore
Springs lager beer that is brewed there. Or stay here while at the
Creemore Mocks! Film Festival Saturday in October.
Golfers? You are conveniently located close to many local courses
including the Mad River Golf Club, Duntroon Highlands Golf Club(owner
can set up a round of golf here), and the Bateaux Creek
For those seeking a beach experience, the fine beaches of Wasaga
Beach are close by for lots of summer time fun.
If you enjoy cycling or jogging, the area will not disappoint. The
gravel farm lane in front of the cabin is private and safe for the
young bikers. The nearby back country gravel roads are hilly, cross
many streams and tree canopied stretches of roads. Good cross-country
mountain bike single-track trail riding is available at the nearby
Three Stage Trails (Pretty River Valley Provincial Park) and Kolopore
Uplands near Flesherton.
This is a nice cottage with an old-time cottage / chalet feel and
all the convenience of home. Rent it by the week for the summer
/ fall or for the season for the nearby alpine and X-country skiing!
