This three bedroom plus sunroom ( bedroom ) waterfront cottage is located on a private dead-end road just 1.5 km from a beautiful public sandy beach in the
village of Lion's Head. The cottage has spectacular views of the
Niagara Escarpment and great swimming for children.
The cottage is 2000 square feet in size. Finished in pine, the cottage provides those on vacation with that 'cottage
feel' and still has an airy, bright, and spacious feel thanks
to the windows and skylights throughout.
The beautiful aquamarine color of the water, large shoreline boulders
and limestone cliffs complete this beautiful setting.
On the lower level of the cottage you will find the kitchen, living
area, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. This lower living area also provides a large space to sit around
and chat with six chairs, a couch, and a great view of Isthmus
Bay out the large picture window. The living area and kitchen space are open concept
with plenty of cupboard and counter space.
Just off of the lower living area is a set of French doors which
will take you to the dining area. Here you will find a table and
chairs for six. There is also a desk here with wireless internet
for those who need to stay connected over the holidays. Doors off of this dining area take you out to a massive deck that
overlooks the small private road and Isthmus Bay. Out across the
bay you can view some of the most breathtaking parts of the
When the sun sets, a bright reddish glow will
reflect off of the cliffs on the other side of the bay. You can also
witness beautiful sunrises over Georgian Bay from the lake-facing decks.
The master bedroom on the lower level has a king size bed with an ensuite three-piece bathroom with a shower. This bedroom has sliding glass
doors that take you out to the large deck that was described above. The second bedroom has a double bed, while a third bedroom on this level has two single
beds. Each has a window and a dresser.
There is a three-piece washroom off of the lower level living area
that has a bathtub.
The sunroom area has been transformed into a bedroom like room with a double futon in it.
Across the small dirt road is one of the prettiest shorelines on
the Bruce Peninsula. Miles of cobblestone beach can be walked upon.
If you head south up the shoreline you will eventually come to the
historical Lion's Head Lighthouse and Marina. It is about a 1.5
km walk by shoreline. If you head north along the shoreline the
cobblestone turns to flat limestone rock and you can walk for close
to 3 kilometers before coming to the end.
Swimming at the cottage is better with swim shoes, as cobble stones
lead you into the water and continue out for quite some time. The
water gets deep as you go out and makes for great swimming.
If you do choose to head to the beach the Lion's Head Public Beach
is a great way to spend the day. This sandy beach has gradual entry
into the water with a swim raft. There is also a volleyball net,
playground equipment, and a swing set for the children.
There are number of unidentified shipwrecks in Lion’s Head
Harbour; the most shallow is a 42-metre long schooner that can be
easily seen from a kayak. Looking out from the Lion’s Head
Beach you can see Point Hangcliffe, the highest section of this
section of the escarpment, and farther along, at the end, you can
detect the outline of the famous lion’s head.
There is excellent deep water fishing for salmon and trout in the
Lion's Head and this cottage are the perfect match for your next
