Cottage Profile
This spectacular, newly constructed eco-freindly 2200 square foot cottage is located on Hay Bay only 4 km from the Village of Tobermory.
When you enter the large living room you will be struck by the
large windows, cathedral ceilings, natural pine floors, split hemlock
paneling and large natural stone gas fire place. In this area is
a leather couch, a couple of comfortable chairs, and a 32 inch LCD
television. (DVD use only)
Adjacent to the living room is the large eat in kitchen with stainless steel appliances (fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher), stone counter tops, natural stone back splash and a food prep island with sinks.
The harvest table is the kitchen is made up of large wooden hemlock planks finished in a natural state. The table has a bench on one side and chairs on the other.
Next to the dining area is sliding glass doors leading out a covered deck containing a picnic table and propane barbeque.
At the opposite end of the house is the master bedroom, with an elevated queen size bed, large glass windows and four piece ensuite bathroom.
On the second story are two large bedrooms each with their own private balconies, and two queen size beds. In between the bedrooms is a loft area with seating area containing a leather chair, ottoman, small desk, and view of the lower floor. This is a great place to snuggle up with a good book.
Also on the upper level is a three piece bathroom with shower.
The cottage is surrounded by a cedar forest and a fairly private
setting. The lake side yard of the cottage has newly planted grass
and an outdoor firepit with four wooden chairs. A wooden board walk
leads down to a large lake side wooden deck with four chairs and
a bench.
The waterfront of the cottage is very shallow and grassy and not suited to swimming. There is a nice public beach located at Dunks Bay only a 6 km drive away.
The cottage is located at the end of a paved road, only
4 km from Tobermory. In the village of Tobermory, you can stroll through the shopping area,
visit the library, restaurants and beautiful natural harbour, or take
a scenic boat cruise to view shipwrecks, lighthouses and visit Flowerpot
Island. Dinner cruises aboard the Chi-Cheemaun are also very popular.
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream come true.
Guided tours along the Niagara Escarpment or the shores of Singing Sands
on Lake Huron are available only a 10-minute drive away. Amphitheater
programs are presented at Cyprus Lake at dusk and are informative and
entertaining.
