This Sparrow Lake cottage is a wonderful vacation destination for fun and relaxation. It offers a perfect combination of your own private cottage and all of the recreational amenities of a summer waterfront resort.
Sparrow Lake is part of the historic Trent-Severn Waterway offering miles of fabulous boating between Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay. It is the most southerly lake in the popular Muskoka tourist region and is situated midway between Orillia and Gravenhurst, only a 90 minute drive from Toronto.
'The Cottage' is part of the Grandview Lakeside Community Club, a cottage community nestled on Grandview Point at the site of the former Grandview Lodge Resort with over 1800 feet of waterfront. With this cottage you will also enjoy access to recreational amenities for all ages including a heated pool, tennis and beach volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, club house (with shuffleboard and card tables), children's play equipment, fire pit, docks, fish cleaning station, and lovely sand beach - all the ingredients for a memorable summer vacation.
As you enter the property, your cottage is the first cottage on the left side of the roadway. You will recognize it by the large level grassed lawn in front of the white cottage (dark blue/grey trim) with a large deck and a bright red roof. Parking is at the side of the cottage. There is one entrance to the cottage on the side next to the parking area and one at the front of the cottage.
Inside the cottage is an open kitchen/dining/living room with a window over the sink and a large window at the dining table that provide great views of the front yard and waterfront. In the kitchen area you will find all the necessary amenities - a fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, cutlery, toaster, kettle and coffeemaker. The dining table seats four people and the living room area has a TV and a couch that folds out to a double bed. In the large master bedroom there is a king bed, three windows, sitting area, wall air conditioning unit, and a four-piece ensuite bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi tub.
Down a short hallway from the living room area is a main bathroom with an enclosed toilet & tub/shower room.
There are also two more bedrooms, both with bright windows - one with two single beds and the other with one double bed and one single bed.
There is no washer and dryer in the cottage but these amenities
can be found just a short walk to the onsite laundry building that
is available to take care of your laundry needs during your stay
at the cottage.
In front of the cottage there is a spacious 536 square foot deck and a more private 344 square foot deck on the back side of the cottage. The front deck has a patio table (with umbrella) with four chairs and two lounge chairs perfect for taking advantage of the lake view and relaxing with your favourite book and /or summer beverage. There is also a propane BBQ for grilling up some great outdoor meals. The back deck has a patio table (with umbrella) and four chairs.
The Sparrow Lake waterfront is only about 150 feet from the cottage. Everywhere along the shore is ideal for catching the morning sunrise, taking in the views of the lake and islands, or boat-watching the watercraft making their way through the Trent-Severn Waterway. At the lake there are docks and a boat launch if you have your own boat, or try your hand fishing from the dock. The sand beach is a great spot to catch some rays or swim out to the floating dock. The water depth increases very gradually and is ideal for non-swimmers and children.
A short drive away are the towns of Gravenhurst and Orillia - with a wide variety of shopping, dining, entertainment, arts & culture events and attractions.
RENOVATIONS: Renovations to the interior layout are being done. Some space from Bedroom 1 is being taken to make the dining room larger. Pictures to follow in summer of 2018
