Note: Many of the pictures on this web page have been
taken using a 16 mm wide angle lens. We use this lens to show as much detail
as possible in each of the rooms of the cottage. This makes the rooms seem
larger than they really are.
Please Note: The water levels in Ontario have been fluctuating in recent years. Therefore, some of the photographs of shorelines/beaches on this website may not fully reflect current waterfront conditions.
A quiet retreat surrounded by cedar and birch trees, located in Hope Bay on the Bruce Peninsula - this cottage is just a 2 minute walk to a sandy, shallow entry public beach. This 1,400 sq ft, three bedroom cottage with its log-and-beam structure is a great retreat in all seasons.
The interior of the cottage is open concept so when you enter you'll find the kitchen, dining and living areas in one large open space. The kitchen provides many of the amenities of home including fridge, stove, oven, microwave and more. The full granite island, with a stove top, and accompanied by raised bar-style seats is the perfect place to gather for a coffee or a quick breakfast before you head outdoors for the day. Just adjacent is the dining table which will seat six comfortably, situated by windows that look out to the yard and the patio doors out to the deck.
The living room offers ample comfortable seating facing a beautiful stone wall where you'll find the wood-burning fireplace and a mounted 32" HD TV with DVD player so you can enjoy those favourite movies that you've brought along.
On the main level you'll find a two-piece bathroom with sink and toilet, while upstairs there is a four-piece bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Also upstairs you'll find the three bedrooms. Two rooms offer queen size beds and the other one has a double bed.
Outside, the 650 sq ft deck wraps around three sides of the cottage - two of which are shaded. There is plenty of space to relax with a book in one of the loungers, enjoy a meal at the picnic table and cook up a great feast on the propane BBQ.
There is a fire bowl available for your use, so you can gather 'round at the end of the day and tell stories while roasting marshmallows. The kids will love the fantastic yard space while you'll enjoy the privacy of the side yard and access to the Bruce Trail for hiking and snowshoeing - right next to the cottage!
Hope Bay public sand beach, on Georgian Bay, is just a 2 minute walk away, so you can enjoy a day at the beach without having to pack everyone into your car and drive. The communities of Lion's Head and Wiarton are just 15 km and 20 km away, so you have quick access to the grocery stores, shops and restaurants of those communities.
