Get away on Lake Simcoe! This waterfront cottage is located at prestigious Big Bay Point on Lake Simcoe and is just 20 minutes from downtown Barrie.
The cottage is located in a private setting with a golf course on one side and Lake Simcoe on the other. You take a private tree lined road to the cottage and arrive at the 1200 square foot cottage, which provides spectacular views overlooking the sparkling waters of Lake Simcoe's Kempenfelt Bay. The sunsets are some of the nicest in Ontario.
The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and more. The dining table easily seats ten and there is a chalkboard where you can keep track of your 'places to see & things to do' or keep score for your evening board/card games. The breakfast and its two high stools is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee.
In the living room there are large bright windows, comfortable furniture, and a patio door leading to the rear deck. There is a gas fireplace at the cottage too so you can keep you toasty on cool evenings in the spring and fall.
The cottage has three bedrooms - two of the rooms each have a queen bed while the third bedroom has two singles. The bathroom is a four-piece with tub/shower, and there is also a washer and dryer available for your laundry needs.
Out on the deck there is a propane BBQ for your outdoor grilling, and a patio table with umbrella and six chairs. On the property there are also four loungers and four Muskoka chairs for relaxing, as well as plenty of other seats so everyone can enjoy time outside together. The rear deck is a great spot for catching some sun and relaxing with a good book.
In the rear yard there is a firepit available for evening campfires, roasting marshmallows, taking in the starry night sky and sharing stories with friends and family. From the cottage it's just a short stroll to the shore.
The cottage has 70 ft of waterfront, and the shore is at the base of a 9 ft bank. There is a large (20'x14') triangular deck here with a set of 4 ft wide steps with handrails on both sides. Leading off of the deck is a 30 ft long dock. Both the deck and the dock are private.
Entry into the lake is jump in, or climb down a ladder. You can walk over the rocks on the shoreline to get into the water too. There is a swim raft for you to enjoy or try your hand at fishing from the dock - Lake Simcoe is a popular spot for lake trout, lake whitefish, smallmouth bass and yellow perch.
Whether your vacation style is to be active or relaxed, sporty or artsy, or a combination of each you will find plenty to see and do in the area. Minet's Point Park is a favourite spot for bird watchers in the spring and fall, while the waters of Kempenfelt Bay are a magnet for outdoor water sport enthusiasts including windsurfers, kite surfers and kayakers. Many Provincial Parks are easily accessible, and there are several beachfront parks a short drive away in Barrie and Orillia. Major stores, a wide variety of shopping, dining, entertainment, arts & culture events and attractions are available nearby in both Barrie and Orillia.
