all rooms (except laundry and bathrooms) offer great Georgian Bay
waterfront and sunset views.
The great room with vaulted ceiling, the family room with wrap around windows, and the loft sitting area with a patio door to the upper deck provide lots of options for socializing, enjoying a family movie night, watching the game or just simply relaxing. There is WIFI, Blu-Ray DVD, and two 55” HD cable televisions.
You can cook simple fare to gourmet in the modern kitchen that features stainless steel appliances and granite counter top. For meal time seating the choices include the dining room with coffered ceiling that easily seats 10, the kitchen nook table and 4 chairs, and the counter bar with 4 stools. Two of the four bedrooms have direct access to bright updated bathrooms with walk-in showers. For your convenience there is also a washer and dryer to take care of any laundry needs during your stay at the cottage.
Outside, the upper and main level rear decks are perfect for outdoor dining, catching some sun, taking advantage of the bay view, watching passing boats, socializing, relaxing with your book and/or favourite vacation beverage. There is a propane BBQ.
The rear grassed yard is a great place for kids to play. It just a short walk to the shore where you will find a firepit and chairs for evening campfires, marshmallow roasting, and taking in some of the nicest sunsets. The water depth increases gradually for swimming or just splashing around. This would also make a great spot to launch your canoe or kayak if you have your own. If not, no worries there are 2 kayaks (with paddles & life jackets) available for you to explore the shoreline.
Whatever your vacation style, you will find plenty to see and do in the area. The nearest towns are Midland and Penetanguishene where you will find plenty of shopping, dining, and sightseeing. There are three golf courses within a 15 to 20 minute drive, (Midland GCC, Brooklea GCC, Balmy Beachway).
Experience the 30,000 Islands with a trip on the Miss Midland or
the Georgian Queen - both sightseeing and sunset dinner cruises
available. Tour the SS Keewatin, an immaculately restored 1907 passenger
ship. Within 10 to 15 minutes there are many historically significant
and interesting sites: the Martyr's Shrine, St. Marie-Among-the-Hurons
- a restored native village, Discovery Harbour - a 19th century
British military base with tall ships, King's Warf Theatre to take
in a live play, Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre - great fun for kids,
the Midland Waterfront Trail, Tay and Tiny hiking and biking trails,
and Awenda Provincial Park. Less than ½ hr drive away, Mount St
Louise Moonstone has great hills for skiing and snowboarding.
This cottage rents year round with easy access to beautiful beaches and trails in the summer, brilliant fall colours, and winter skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
