Three bedroom, 900 square foot, cozy cottage located on Crowe Lake just outside of the community of Havelock in Peterborough county.
Driving up to the cottage along a quiet road you'll pull up to the cottage lot and notice a very large grassy area and a long grassy driveway that leads you to where you park, which is above the cottage. A trail and some steps take you to the cottage entrance.
Enter through the kitchen and find many of the amenities of home including fridge, stove/oven, microwave and more for your meal preparation. Just adjacent is a dining table and chairs for a sit-down meal together.
The living room space offers a couch and two chairs situated by a 20" TV with a DVD player - so bring along your favourite movies for evening entertainment after a day of paddling on the lake. There is also a wood stove here for taking the chill out of a cool evening. Patio doors lead out to the elevated deck that overlooks the lake.
The cottage has three bedrooms. The master bedroom located off
the living room provides a queen bed, a ceiling fan overhead and
a window looking out to the lake. The other two bedrooms are located
off of the dining room - one has a double bed while the other offers
a set of single bunkbeds.
The cottage bathroom, right off the kitchen, is a four-piece with a combination tub/shower.
From the living room you'll have access to the elevated cottage deck, which is a great space to enjoy the view of the lakefront. On this deck you'll find a patio table with six chairs and a propane BBQ so that you can enjoy a meal outdoors. Or put up your feet and relax on either of the loungers with a beverage and a good book.
Exit through the kitchen and continue down the path to the lawn at the shoreline where you'll find more grassy space. There is a shoreline fire pit, so gather around for a family campfire in the evening.
The cottage has direct access into Crowe Lake. The shoreline is a mix of sand and mud/marsh. There are grasses growing on the shoreline and into Crowe Lake for about 5 feet. Swimming, fishing and boating are popular on this lake. Get out on the lake with the provided canoe and paddleboat, which you can launch from the dock.
The cottage is just 13 km outside of the community of Havelock which is well known for its annual country jamboree in mid August. The cottage is just under an hour drive from the larger communities of Belleville and Peterborough. There are a variety of conservation areas and provincial parks in the area that are great for exploration!
