Your quaint retreat! This is a 1050 square foot, 2 bedroom cottage located on a sheltered bay on Eagle Harbour not far from the community of Tobermory on the Northern Bruce Peninsula. This cottage provides you with privacy and calm to truly get away!
The shoreline directly in front of the cottage is a silt/mud and rock bottom, with a deep mud bottom, that is much better suited to boating than swimming. There is a dock here so you can launch the paddle boat (provided for your use) or if you have your own kayak or canoe this is a great spot to paddle off. This is a marshy spot on the bay where you can often see frogs, turtles, ducks and over wildlife along with natural vegetatition. Fear not about the swimming - as you can stroll to the end of the lot and swim in the larger part of Eagle Harbour which has a flat rock and rubble shoreline and gradual entry with good swimming.
When you arrive to the cottage, on it's well-treed lot for your privacy, you'll head up the side steps to the deck and to the entrance.
The modern kitchen offers all of the amenities of home including fridge, stove/oven, microwave. dishwasher and much more, as well as ample cupboard space for storage. The dining table can seat all four in your group, right next to the floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to the deck and waterfront beyond.
The living room space has a large leather sofa to get comfy on, and it's the perfect spot to lounge with a good book, catch up with your family and take in the view out the windows. There is a small 15" TV with a VCR if you have VHS movies that you've brought along for entertainment. There is also a 2nd 32" TV/VCR combo.
There are two bedrooms at the cottage - each have a queen size bed and a ceiling fan overhead. There are two bathrooms and each of these is a four-piece with tub/shower combination. There is a washing machine available for your laundry needs, and while there is no dryer you can use the outdoor clothesline to save energy and dry in the fresh air.
Out on the deck, which you can access via the sliding glass doors, you'll find a table, chairs and a propane BBQ that are calling you outside for dinner. There are also a pair of loungers and some Muskoka chairs so you can relax outside in the sun and look out at your serene surroundings.
For hikers, naturalists and scuba divers, the area is a dream! Bruce Peninsula National Park is a quick drive away for those hiking enthusiasts, or perhaps you'd like to pack a lunch and hang out at the Grotto for the afternoon. Fathom Five National Marine Park can be explored by boat tours that operate out of Tobermory, and the village itself provides you with all the necessary amenities including a grocery store, restaurants, unique shops and a beautiful harbour to explore.
