Cottage Profile

Private, spacious 1500 square foot, 3 bedroom cottage located in a peaceful setting on Sturgeon Lake on the Trent-Severn Waterway in Ontario's Kawartha Lakes cottage region. The lot is well treed and surrounded by farmland so that you can truly escape, while you can enjoy the fishing, boating and swimming that this property gives you access to!

Pull up the driveway and follow along for 200 feet as the cottage is set well-back from the road. You'll note the deck space - there are four decks in total that encompass 1200 square feet of space to take advantage of the fresh air, sunshine/shade and serene views.

Across the street from the cottage is your own private waterfront lot. 300 feet from the cottage takes you to the lakeside deck with a panoramic view of Sturgeon Lake. This is your own private area with a large grassy area for the children to play. The shoreline is a mixture of sand and gravel.

Make your way inside - the kitchen offers all of the amenities of home to give you comfort and convenience. There is a fridge, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher and more. A petit table and four chairs is a great spot to eat a quick breakfast before you head outside for the day or take a seat on one of the stools at the breakfast bar with your morning coffee. Patio doors here lead out to a side deck so you're not far from access to the outdoors - if you're an early riser head out to the waterfront deck and take in a sunrise over the lake.

The bright dining space has a wall of windows and a double set of patio doors bringing in plenty of natural light and giving you a view outdoors. The dining table provides seating for eight to enjoy a sit-down meal together. The patio doors lead out to a great deck where you can lounge away your afternoons.

The large living room space offers a cozy seating area on one side with a loveseat and two chairs. On the other side of the space is a sofa and chair by the 42" flatscreen TV with satellite for your rainy-day entertainment. There are also patio doors here out to the rear deck and to the backyard.

The cottage has three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms each offer a queen size bed while the other bedroom (perfect for the kids) offers a double bed and a set of bunkbeds with a single over single. There are two bathrooms at this cottage. One is a four-piece with tub/shower combination, while the other bathroom is a two-piece with a toilet and sink and it also offers a washer and dryer for your convenience.

Outdoors, you can take advantage of the 1200 square feet of deck space on the front, rear, side and waterfront decks. You can sit down for dinner at the patio table with its six chairs, play a boardgame at the picnic table, and make use of the Muskoka chairs for working on your tan, relaxing with your book or sipping your favourite beverage. There is also fantastic lawn space for the kids to run around and play, and you can all gather together at the fire pit (with seating all around!) for a family campfire under the stars.

Head down the lawn to the waterfront deck. While the shoreline cannot be seen from the cottage, this deck is the perfect spot to sit with your front-row seat to a spectacular view, with the pergola overhead providing shade. Head down the dock to jump into the deeper water at the end, or you can make your way in slowly at the shoreline. The shoreline is a mix of stone, rubble and flat rock.

There is easy access to local towns along the Trent-Severn Waterway by car - or by boat! - including Fenelon Falls, Lindsey and Bobcaygeon. There are golf courses within a 10-20 km drive and the cottage sits just 1 km off of the Victoria Rail Trail which is 85 km in length and links up to the TransCanada Trail in Lindsey. The trails are excellent for hiking, biking, ATVing and snowmobiling for year-round use - so get out and enjoy!

No apparent child safety issues

Weekly rentals run from Saturday at 4:30 pm to the following Saturday at 11:00 am.

Five stars out of Five. Cottage has only one neighbour, 100 ft to the south and is very well screened and cottage is 200 ft from the road.

The shoreline is across the road from the cottage. 300 feet takes you to the shoreline which is a mix of rubble, stone and flat rock. Swim shoes recommended. Gradual entry into the water but deepens for good swimming.


Cottage not designed for wheelchair access.

There is a 54 ft dock at the shoreline that can dock a boat up to 30 ft. Depth of water at the end of the dock is generally 11 ft (but this can vary depending on weather and season). There is a boat launch 1 km away at Long Beach Marina.

No but lovely sunrises from the shoreline.
