Little Whitefish Lake is great for swimming, fishing and boating,
and the cottage is only about 30 minutes from downtown Parry Sound
The Parry Sound region is a year-round destination with something for everyone to do twelve months of the year. This cottage offers privacy in a natural setting.
There is a 750 foot private road leading to the cottage and the
cottage property has been kept as much as possible in its natural
state. The 3 bedroom 1250 square foot cottage is nestled in the
trees on a gentle slope with a great view overlooking the sparkling
waters of Little Whitefish Lake.
When you arrive at the cottage you will find the parking area conveniently
located close to the cottage entrance. Upon entering the cottage
you will find an open split-level main floor with a kitchen and
dining room, and a lower living room.
The split level main floor area features high vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms, and plenty of large bright windows providing excellent views of the lake and surrounding forest.
The owner is an artist so you will find many original paintings
on the walls. The working kitchen is efficient and well equipped
with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster,
blender, toaster oven, crepe pan, Keurig coffee machine, crock pot,
coffee maker, kettle, tea pot, and dishes and cutlery. Conveniently
located next to the kitchen is the dining room.
The dining table seats six and there is a patio door from the dining room for easy access to the outdoor deck. In the living room there is a 46" satellite television with Bell Basic service, radio, CD/DVD player, wood burning fireplace, and a full size couch and four comfortable chairs to unwind in, - a great spot for a relaxing morning coffee or enjoying an evening movie with your family.
The wood burning fireplace is great after a day of Fall hiking,
Winter snowshoeing, or cool evenings. On the main floor there is
also a 4 piece (sink/toilet/tub/shower) bathroom and three bedrooms.
In two of the bedrooms there are queen beds and in the third bedroom
there is a double bed. One of the bedrooms features a small private
deck with a view of the lake and surrounding forest. On the lower
level of the cottage there is a washer and dryer for your laundry
needs during your stay at the cottage. There is also an extra upright
freezer that you can use if needed.
On the outdoor deck at the cottage there is a propane BBQ and a
charcoal BBQ. After you have grilled your favourite vacation meal,
you can sit down to enjoy a family outdoor dinner. There are two
patio tables with umbrellas and 10 chairs. The outdoor deck is a
great spot to relax with a good book, enjoy a cup of tea, or catch
up with family and friends. From the cottage it is just a short
stroll to the shoreline. The natural treed shoreline opens onto
a 30 X 40 foot floating dock at the end of a 20 foot dock causeway.
On the dock there is a picnic table, umbrella and Muskoka chairs.
It's a great spot for taking in the lake view, lovely sunrises and
sunsets, catching some sun, or relaxing with a good book. There
is a small sandy beach area sheltered by the dock that provides
easy access to the lake making it ideal for wading and playing in
The water depth between the shore and the dock goes from 0 to 7
feet. The water on the far side is about 16 feet deep if you prefer
to take a jump in the lake or bring your fishing gear and try your
hand at fishing. The dock is available to park your boat if you
Boats can be launched at the Seguin Marina (6 km away). If you don't have your own boat, no worries, there is one canoe with paddles, life jackets for 4 adults and 4 children, and there are also two kids bikes available for your use during your stay. At the shore there is also a fire pit where you can enjoy story-telling and roasting marshmallows under the evening sky.
If you enjoy boating, Little Whitefish Lake is part of a 3 lake system that includes Whitefish Lake and Clear Lake so there is lots of water to explore. The region has an abundance of natural beauty and year round activities. Major stores, shopping, dining and entertainment are available in Parry Sound or visit the quaint and smaller town of Rosseau.
