Cottage Profile

This waterfront cottage is located on beautiful Little Whitefish Lake in the Parry Sound region - the perfect place for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. Little Whitefish Lake is great for swimming, fishing and boating, and the cottage is only about 30 minutes from downtown Parry Sound

The Parry Sound region is a year-round destination with something for everyone to do twelve months of the year. This cottage offers privacy in a natural setting.

There is a 750 foot private road leading to the cottage and the cottage property has been kept as much as possible in its natural state. The 3 bedroom 1250 square foot cottage is nestled in the trees on a gentle slope with a great view overlooking the sparkling waters of Little Whitefish Lake.

When you arrive at the cottage you will find the parking area conveniently located close to the cottage entrance. Upon entering the cottage you will find an open split-level main floor with a kitchen and dining room, and a lower living room.

The split level main floor area features high vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors in the living and dining rooms, and plenty of large bright windows providing excellent views of the lake and surrounding forest.

The owner is an artist so you will find many original paintings on the walls. The working kitchen is efficient and well equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, toaster oven, crepe pan, Keurig coffee machine, crock pot, coffee maker, kettle, tea pot, and dishes and cutlery. Conveniently located next to the kitchen is the dining room.

The dining table seats six and there is a patio door from the dining room for easy access to the outdoor deck. In the living room there is a 46" satellite television with Bell Basic service, radio, CD/DVD player, wood burning fireplace, and a full size couch and four comfortable chairs to unwind in, - a great spot for a relaxing morning coffee or enjoying an evening movie with your family.

The wood burning fireplace is great after a day of Fall hiking, Winter snowshoeing, or cool evenings. On the main floor there is also a 4 piece (sink/toilet/tub/shower) bathroom and three bedrooms. In two of the bedrooms there are queen beds and in the third bedroom there is a double bed. One of the bedrooms features a small private deck with a view of the lake and surrounding forest. On the lower level of the cottage there is a washer and dryer for your laundry needs during your stay at the cottage. There is also an extra upright freezer that you can use if needed.

On the outdoor deck at the cottage there is a propane BBQ and a charcoal BBQ. After you have grilled your favourite vacation meal, you can sit down to enjoy a family outdoor dinner. There are two patio tables with umbrellas and 10 chairs. The outdoor deck is a great spot to relax with a good book, enjoy a cup of tea, or catch up with family and friends. From the cottage it is just a short stroll to the shoreline. The natural treed shoreline opens onto a 30 X 40 foot floating dock at the end of a 20 foot dock causeway.

On the dock there is a picnic table, umbrella and Muskoka chairs. It's a great spot for taking in the lake view, lovely sunrises and sunsets, catching some sun, or relaxing with a good book. There is a small sandy beach area sheltered by the dock that provides easy access to the lake making it ideal for wading and playing in the water.

The water depth between the shore and the dock goes from 0 to 7 feet. The water on the far side is about 16 feet deep if you prefer to take a jump in the lake or bring your fishing gear and try your hand at fishing. The dock is available to park your boat if you have one.

Boats can be launched at the Seguin Marina (6 km away). If you don't have your own boat, no worries, there is one canoe with paddles, life jackets for 4 adults and 4 children, and there are also two kids bikes available for your use during your stay. At the shore there is also a fire pit where you can enjoy story-telling and roasting marshmallows under the evening sky.

If you enjoy boating, Little Whitefish Lake is part of a 3 lake system that includes Whitefish Lake and Clear Lake so there is lots of water to explore. The region has an abundance of natural beauty and year round activities. Major stores, shopping, dining and entertainment are available in Parry Sound or visit the quaint and smaller town of Rosseau.

The Parry Sound coastline is home to the Georgian Bay Biosphere, one of only 13 UNESCO sites in Canada. With several provincial parks, over 30,000 islands and an abundance of inland lakes and rivers, the region provides photographers and artists with endless hours of recreation and is an outdoor lover's paradise with plenty of fishing, boating, paddling, walking, hiking opportunities or simply enjoying the scenery and experiencing the vibrant Fall colours.

Relax and take in the views on a 30,000 Island boat cruise aboard the Island Queen. Enjoy the view from above as you soar overhead on a flight-seeing adventure with Georgian Bay Airways or Fly & Dine to the famous Henry's Fish Restaurant. Visit the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame. Explore the Seguin Trail. Experience the spectacular Canadian Shield scenery with Bear Claw ATV Tours. Maybe you would like to take a swing at the local golf greens. The region doesn't close up in the winter, many come to the area for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling. There is plenty to see and do.
