CASA de POCO LOCO
About 2.5 hours drive north of Toronto and centrally located between
Parry Sound, Rosseau, Port Carling, and Bala, this executive 4 season
waterfront chalet/cottage is fully equipped and tastefully furnished.
Its wood siding exterior and knotty pine interior provide a warm
and welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in the trees on a gentle slope
overlooking beautiful Little Whitefish Lake, this is a great choice
for families or small groups looking for a comfortable and relaxing
vacation. Little Whitefish Lake is great for swimming, fishing and
boating and the region is a year-round destination with something
for everyone to do twelve months of the year; such as snowshoeing
and cross country skiing.
With 3250 square foot, 3+ bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a separate sleeping cabin, and 300 feet of waterfront this chalet has all the charm you would want with all the comforts of home to make for a memorable vacation.
This property is located at the end of a short, quiet, private road.
You enter the two-level chalet on the main floor where you will
be welcomed by an open kitchen, dining and living room area. The
large open concept allows for easy conversation between those in
the living room, dining room, or kitchen. The main floor features
slate tile and wide plank wood floors, high vaulted living room
ceiling, large bright picture windows allowing you to appreciate
the lake view and surrounding woodlands, and an impressive floor
to ceiling stone, wood burning fireplace.
There is a clean, well equipped kitchen with everything you need for your vacation meals. Cook simple fare to gourmet in the bright modern kitchen that features white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances including a gas range, and kitchen bar seating. It is equipped with fridge and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee pot, kettle, blender, water cooler, cappuccino maker, and plenty of cooking utensils and cookware to satisfy your culinary needs.
There is a patio door from the dining room that provides you with easy access to the outdoor deck. There are also sliding French doors that lead to the 3 season Muskoka room where you can sit and relax while enjoying a view of the lake.
The Muskoka room features a high vaulted ceiling, wicker loveseat and chairs to unwind in, three walls of large bright windows, pine walls and ceiling, and a wood burning fireplace. When the dining table is relocated here in the warmer weather this room provides a wonderful "Muskoka" ambiance for dining and relaxation with family and friends. The dining table can accommodate up to 12 people.
Comfortable seating, pine vaulted ceiling and large floor to ceiling
windows in the warm and cozy living room invite you to gather around
to relax in front of the wood burning, stone fireplace and take
in the stunning lake views. A great spot for a relaxing morning,
afternoon conversations, or enjoying an evening with your family.
In the living room there is a 55" SmartTV, DVD and CD player,
and sonas sound system. High speed internet is also available.
On the main floor there is a beautiful master bedroom with a great lake view, patio door to a private outside deck, king size bed, and ensuite bathroom (sink, toilet, tub/shower). There is also a sitting area with a chair and reading lamp where you can relax for some quiet time with a cup of tea and a good book. On the main floor there is also a bathroom with sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub, and there is a laundry room with washer and dryer for your laundry needs during your stay.
Downstairs on the lower level you will find a spacious living room area with lake views, two comfy sofas, gas fireplace, 42" TV, DVD and CD player, and a window side chess table. There is also a 4 piece bathroom (sink, toilet, tub/shower), and two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and a lake view. The other bedroom has a queen bed. A sitting room off the lower level living room provides an additional sleeping option with a pull-out sofa. There is also an outside sleeping cabin with 2 twin beds. The kids will love having their own sleeping cabin.
The rear elevated, tiered, outdoor deck gives a great vantage point
as you gaze out across the water and enjoying the fresh air. The
deck is a perfect spot to socialize, catch up with family and friends,
or relax with your favourite vacation beverage. There are plenty
of outdoor chairs and lounges for relaxing. The early birds in your
group can enjoy a quiet morning coffee. You can catch some sun on
the deck or use the retractable awning to relax in the shade and
in the evening you can take in the summer sunsets while sitting
in Muskoka chairs next to the chimnea.
There is a gas BBQ with a charcoal insert (optional) for your grilling
up some BBQ feasts, a hammock for some quiet time and an 8-10 person
hot tub. It’s just a short stroll to the water where the shore
has sandy and rock sections. The water depth increases to about
11 feet at the dock. Young children need to be supervised. There
are chairs, table and umbrella at the dock. The 18'X 30' dock is
the ideal spot to catch some rays, relax with a good book and take
in a great panoramic view of the lake. If you prefer take a dip
in the lake, swim out to the floating dock, or bring your fishing
gear and try your hand at fishing from the dock.
If you wish to explore the lake, there are two kayaks with paddles, one canoe with paddles and 12 life jackets available for your use during your stay. Little Whitefish Lake is part of a 3 lake system that includes Whitefish Lake and Clear Lake so there is lots of water to explore. There are also 2 adult bikes. There is a grassed area where you can play bocce ball, badminton, crocquet or horseshoes and a fire pit where you can enjoy evening campfires, roasting marshmallows, taking in the starry night sky and sharing stories.
The region has an abundance of natural beauty and year round activities. Major stores, shopping, dining and entertainment are available in Parry Sound or visit the quaint and smaller town of Rosseau. The Parry Sound coastline is home to the Georgian Bay Biosphere, one of only 13 UNESCO sites in Canada.
With several provincial parks, over 30,000 islands and an abundance of inland lakes and rivers, the region provides photographers and artists with endless hours of recreation and is an outdoor lover’s paradise with plenty of fishing, boating, paddling, walking, hiking opportunities or simply enjoying the scenery and experiencing the vibrant Fall colours. Relax and take in the views on a 30,000 Island boat cruise aboard the Island Queen. Enjoy the view from above as you soar overhead on a flight-seeing adventure with Georgian Bay Airways or “Fly & Dine’ to the famous Henry’s Fish Restaurant. Visit the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame. Explore the Seguin Trail. Experience the spectacular Canadian Shield scenery with Bear Claw ATV Tours. Maybe you would like to take a swing at the local golf greens.
