'Huron Shores' is a large clean three-bedroom waterfront cottage
located on the crystal clear waters of Dorcas Bay, on Lake Huron.
The cottage is open concept, with a sunken living area, and a wall
of lakeview windows overlooking the lake. The cottage is beautifully
decorated and provides a bright and airy feeling.
In the main living area you will find two comfortable couches and
an arm chair with foot stool. The view of Lake Huron from anywhere
in this room is stunning.
Up just three stairs takes you into the fully equipped kitchen with a preparation island and bar stools, fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave oven. The kitchen also has lots of cupboard and counter space.
Adjacent is the eat in dining area. It seats eight comfortably and has a nice window that allows natual light to flow through.
There are three bedrooms at the cottage, the master has a King
bed and a walk out private deck with 2 muskoka chairs and a small
table. Bedroom two has a Queen bed, and bedroom three has a set
of bunkbeds with a Single on the top and a Double on the bottom.
There are two bathrooms at the cottage, both are four piece with
shower and a bathtub.
The family room on the lower level of the cottage has a television with a DVD player and a gas fireplace.
There are three decks on the property. The two lakeside decks are located on the south side of the cottage near the flat limestone shoreline. The shoreline deck is the perfect place to sit and have your wake-up coffee in the morning sun. This deck is the ideal spot to watch the kids play in the water. A patio table with chairs, and many muskoka chairs are provided here.
The deck attached to the cottage sits in the sun by
midday and is a wonderful place to relax, read and eat your meals
while watching the waves roll in. This deck has patio furniture
for your relaxation, including a coffee table which seats 4 with
a large gazebo for shade. Here you will also find the propane BBQ.
Lastly, on the roadside of the cottage is the master
bedroom deck, in the lee of any winds, offering a more secluded
spot to read or just relax. The cottage is set well back from the
road and is surrounded by trees providing a very private, quiet
The flat shoreline allows for shallow entry into the lake making it a safe place for kids to swim. The lake water is amazingly clear for excellent snorkeling. Swim shoes are recommended.
If you are looking for a sand beach, Singing Sands Beach (part
of Bruce Peninsula National Park) is less than a 10 minute drive
The shoreline contains wonderful rock formations, and is ideal
for walks. It will delight the fossil and wildflower enthusiast.
'Huron Shores' is truly an ideal retreat for the family that enjoys
quiet and privacy, yet it is less than 20 km from the hustle and
bustle of the working harbour at Tobermory.
