Note: Many of the pictures on this web page have been
taken using a 16 mm wide angle lens. We use this lens to show as much detail
as possible in each of the rooms of the cottage. This makes the rooms seem
larger than they really are.
Please Note: The water levels in Ontario have been fluctuating in recent years. Therefore, some of the photographs of shorelines/beaches on this website may not fully reflect current waterfront conditions.
This traditional cottage with an amazing view is nestled in the cedars at the water’s edge on Francis Lake. Francis Lake is a beautiful inland lake situated between Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, only 15 minutes from Owen Sound and less than 30 minutes from Sauble Beach.
The 600 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage features a 400 square foot wood deck and concrete patio where you can relax in the fresh air, catch some sun, take 3 steps down to a sandy gradual entry into the water for a swim or splash around in the water.
There is also a 40 dock. Water depth at the end of the dock is about 4 feet. The cottage has a north-westerly exposure and enjoys full to partial sunsets from the front deck and dock. The cottage is a good choice for couples or a family-oriented vacation.
The cottage is set back from the road at the end of a tree lined drive (about 500 feet). Inside is an open plan living, dining and kitchen. The living area has a large picture window to take advantage of the lake view. There is a TV, DVD player, radio, and two sofas and a chair for relaxing. There are ceiling fans to help circulate air on warmer days. Next to the living area is the dining area with a table and chairs. The newly renovated kitchen has a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and cutlery. There are windows in the kitchen looking out to the rear of the cottage and there is also a water dispenser for your drinking water.
There are three bedrooms at the cottage each with a window to let in the breeze. Two bedrooms have double beds and the third has a double/single bunk bed. The bathroom at the cottage is a three piece sink, toilet, shower.
Outside and accessible from a door in the living area is the front deck and concrete patio where you will find the fire pit for evening marshmallow roasts. With a 40 foot dock, propane BBQ, two tables, 4 chairs, two Muskoka chairs and two loungers there are plenty of options for enjoying the fresh air, catching some sun, relaxing with a good book, socializing, or sitting down to enjoy an outdoor meal.
There is great swimming off the dock or bring your rod and try your
hand at fishing. If you have your own canoe or kayak you can explore
the lake. If you don’t, no worries, there is a canoe, paddle
boat and life jackets for 2 adults and 3 children available for
your use during your stay (young children always need to be supervised
