Boat Tour

No trip to the Bruce Peninsula is complete without a visit to Fathom Five National Marine Park. Many visitors enjoy the glass bottom boat tours that are available to take you through the waters. Luckily, tour companies such as Blue Heron Boat Tours invite you to bring your furry friend on board as well! Double-check with an employee first, as dogs might not be allowed if your cruise is completely sold out. Once you hop on board, you’ll enjoy the stunning view. The incredible history lessons as you learn about the area’s shipwrecks and your pup will get to bask in the sunshine and feel the wind on their face!

Hike the Grotto

Staying active with your dog on vacation is easier than you might think, and hiking the Grotto is one of the easiest and most fun ways to do it. The Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park is a scenic destination that you and your pup are sure to enjoy. You’ll get an amazing view of the Georgian Bay as you hike along with the Grotto, perfect for giving your pet some well-deserved exercise. Just be sure to get there early, since the parking lot can fill up pretty quickly, especially in the summer. Parks Canada has recently implemented a timed parking system, though, hoping that more people will be able to experience the Grotto.

Visit the Beach

No summer vacation is complete without a trip to the beach, and on a Bruce Peninsula vacation, you don’t have to leave your four-legged friend behind! This area actually has five dog-friendly beaches for you to choose from, so you can pick one to explore or try to hit them all! Lions Head Beach, MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Inverhuron Provincial Park, Kincardine Station Beach, and Point Clark Beach all welcome you and your pet to their shores. Just be sure to keep your dog on a leash as you walk along the shoreline, and be courteous and responsible in cleaning up after them. No matter which of these five beaches you choose to visit, you’ll have an absolutely stunning view, and your pet is sure to have fun running on the sand or splashing in the waters!
