The perfect getaway from the city does exist! Imagine waking up and enjoying your morning coffee with the sounds of the local birds while the stillness of the lake greets you-on the shores of Peninsula Lake you will find your next oasis!
This beautiful lakefront property is ready to welcome you with two levels, 5 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and hot tub looking out to the lake. Just past the Huntsville town line, this property is perfect to get the best of the district's favourite small town! As you enter the home, you become engulfed in the natural light from the wall of windows. The kitchen, living room and dining room are uniquely laid out to provide an open flow with ease of conversation while prepping for meals. With the large upper deck off the dining room, al fresco summer dining has never been easier! On the main level you will find the primary suite along with two of the four additional bedrooms. As you make your way downstairs, the ultimate evening entertainment area is ready with open arms. Within the custom wet bar area, you can enjoy relaxing on the sofas for movie nights or walk out to the hot tub. There are very few things enjoyed year round and more satisfying than a soak in the hot tub as you watch the sunset; whether on a summer's evening or after a day spent exploring winter in Northern Ontario.
Peninsula Lake is part of a 3 chain lake system, connecting Lake of Bays and Huntsville with boatable channels starting from the cottage through to Fairy Lake onto the town center of Huntsville continuing to Lake Vernon. Younger group members will be overjoyed playing in the large yard and running into the lake with its shallow sandy entry. Bask in the sunshine on the dock watching the neighbouring boats cruise around this quiet section of Pen Lake (as it’s known to the locals). If you're after a quick dip, running off the dock is the sure-fire way to feel refreshed. Whether you rent, bring your own boat or get out on the lake by paddling there is so much to experience on the waters of Pen Lake.
For excursions away from the water, Limberlost Forest can be found 10 minutes down the road, This private forest reserve has over 70km of hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing trails to explore and is free of charge to day guests. In Lake of Bays there are several small towns filled with local favourites! Make sure to check out Humble Pie, the original Lake of Bays Brewery, and Miss Nelle’s for a delicious scoop of ice cream. Mark O'Meara, Deerhurst and Bigwin Golf courses are all within a short drive. Don’t forget to visit the famous Robinson's General Store which is a one stop shop for all your needs with a local twist.
Proximity to the ski hill makes it easy for everyone to fall in love with the sport. Hidden Valley is the best place to learn or hone your mountain skills. For those who are not keen on skiing, enjoy the "Fire and Ice" Trail nightly on weekends at Arrowhead Provincial Park, where they light up a 1.3 kilometer skating trail through the trees. Arrowhead also offers winter hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The town of Huntsville lights up the night sky with the Eclipse walk, perfect for all ages, especially with a thermos of hot chocolate!
The neighboring areas in Muskoka can provide a fun day or evening trip! Rosseau creates Ice Caves and snowy outdoor geodomes for dining at the J.W. Marriot Resort on the water. Gravenhurst is the starting point for the "Lake Muskoka Magic" tour, hop on a snowmobile and view the lake from the trails or for the more adventurous of the group try your hand at the "Round Algonquin Park' tours. Another must do that will have the kids excited for more is taking the day to tour Bala, with their Cranberry Ice Trail at Muskoka Lakes Winery and Farm. After skating head over to Cottage Cravings, known for having over 30 different hot chocolate flavours! And do not forget the unbelievable ice fishing in the district!
In the spring, enjoy events like the Muskoka Maple Trail- showcasing local maple syrup farms/families and a time when restaurants in the district go the extra mile to create dishes with Ontario's liquid gold! An amazing year round experience can be found at the Muskoka Beer Spa located between Torrence and Bala, hot pools, saunas and more!
While summers are what the area can be known for, the other seasons truly have amazing things to offer (with way less crowds)! Getting out of the city has never been easier! With a prime location and easy access to all the local favourites of Huntsville, make sure to check out the Brunel Locks located 5 minutes down the road or live music in town. There is a local farmers market is available from 9am-2pm every Thursday for sweet treats, smoked fish and fresh produce.
