Looking for a fabulous luxury cottage family vacation with great privacy in the heart of Ontario Cottage Country? Then look no further! Nestled on 7 acres of wooded land, this gorgeous 4-season "True North Homes" cottage sits perched above the beautiful shores of Kawagama Lake. Built in 2010, this beautiful 5,600 sq. ft., 3 level, 6 bedroom cottage and 1,600 sq. ft., 2 bedroom garage bunkie will make for a magnificent family(s) getaway anytime of the year.
You will relax and unwind the moment you enter the foyer and completely reaffirm that you have left the chaos of the city behind you as you take in your tranquil setting. You will be greeted by a wall of floor to ceiling windows with amazing tree top views out to the lake. Bathed in warm ambient light, the great room, with its soaring pine cathedral ceilings, gorgeous wood floors and comfortable furnishings, will be the place for family gatherings morning, noon and night. The living room’s stone gas fireplace can also be enjoyed from the kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is well-equipped and a chef’s delight with modern stainless steel appliances and a central island for preparing meals while taking in the views out to the deck and lake. The lakeside screened-in Muskoka room is just off of the dining room, the perfect spot for after dinner beverages.
The spacious master bedroom is just off of the main living area and has its own 4-piece ensuite bathroom as well as a separate soaking tub with a view! Three tastefully appointed bedrooms are on the upper level with two more bedrooms on the lower level just off of the games room. For additional sleeping there are two more bedrooms in the garage bunkie.
As beautiful as the cottage is, the owners fell in love with the property itself, providing an atmosphere of relaxation in nature, yet with a variety of things to do and things to explore. Days starting on the deck with morning coffee is a must, taking in the view through a "window" trimmed through the tree branches, enabling you to enjoy tranquil lake vistas. Then head down to the lake, via switch back granite stairs, to the expansive dock and 500 feet of water frontage, including 25-30 feet of beach. Get in some morning yoga and then while away your day in relaxing contemplation on the dock while listening to the ripple of the water as the ducks swim by. Set up a chair on the beach, dipping your feet in the lake to cool off while watching the little ones safely splash and play in the shallow waters or teach the older ones to cast and fish off of the dock. For swim enthusiasts, the shoreline is unique in that you can swim 400 feet east, in complete privacy, with no other docks to swim by, and can stop and stand up at any time before swimming back. Take the canoe or kayaks out in the same direction, a little further on, to a beautiful rock face and iconic white pine, with deep water and good fishing. For a longer paddle, continue on for 30 minutes to a little secluded bay with a small waterfall and if you bring or rent a boat, boat through the channel to Bear Lake to the site of Bear mountain rock face and a bit further on to a long rock waterfall. Time to come and create memories to last a lifetime!Only a short drive from Lake of Bays and Dorset, Lake Kawagama is often seen as one of the area's best kept secrets, and boasts the cleanest and clearest water in all of Ontario! 60% of the lake has been deemed Crown Land, allowing for vast stretches of undeveloped land along the water's edge. Only 20 minutes to Dorset, 35 minutes to Dwight and 1 hour to Huntsville and Bracebridge. The historic town of Dorset offers general store, LCBO, 1-2 gift shops, library, museum, wood fired pizza , pottery barn and of course the memorable view from the Dorset Fire Tower.
