This great piece of private property has all that a young family is looking for in a memorable cottage vacation experience!
The bungalow style 3 bedroom cottage is located on a well treed lot on peaceful Bigwind Lake. The open concept kitchen/dining/living room face out to the lake through a large picture window and sliding glass doors lead out to a spacious deck.
Head down to the dock with room enough for the whole family and sit and chill in the natural tranquil surroundings while taking in beautiful views of the lake. Tucked into a sheltered bay with a sandy bottom, you couldn’t ask for a greater location to swim away the day.
Bigwind Lake is crystal clear as it is spring fed and one of the cleanest lakes in Muskoka. Two-thirds of the lake are Crown Land and Wilderness Park and completely uninhabited. With very little power boat traffic due to the 10 hp. restriction, this is truly one of the best Muskoka Lakes to explore in kayaks and canoes. Also avid fishermen can find an abundance of fishing spots on the lake where Speckled Trout, Lake Trout, Perch and Small Mouth Bass are quite plentiful.
There are great walking trails all around the property while on the property itself there are a variety of spots to retreat to and relax. The cottage deck and dock get both sun and shade throughout the day so one can bask in the sun or cool down in the shade with a good novel in hand, or after an active day on the water grab a nap in the Bunkie or lakeside hammock. In the evening gather around the firepit to roast marshmallows or enjoy an after dinner beverage in the screened-in gazebo. Something for everyone to enjoy, morning, noon and night! If you can tear yourself away from the cottage, head into Bracebridge or Gravenhurst for shopping, dining and entertainment. Gravenhurst has a remarkable Farmer’s Market (open from 9am to 2pm every Wednesday in the summer) down by the Muskoka Wharf. There is no end to the activities offered in this area; golfing, hiking, go-carts, mini-golf, scenic boat cruises, even sea-plane tours and for the little ones be sure to visit Santa’s Village.
