Welcome to this amazing Ontario cottage country gem located on tranquil Lucy Lake. There is a fairy tale charm to this 700 sq. ft. 2 bedroom cottage, nestled on an acre of well-treed land, complete with a lake-facing covered log beam porch on the front of the cottage, a screened-in gazebo to the side of the cottage and a cozy bunkie to the back of the cottage.
As you approach the cottage from the driveway to the back entrance, the cottage appears to be compact, but as you step in you will be pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness of this warm and inviting retreat.
The interior is pristinely maintained with tasteful and comfortable furnishings and décor, beautiful pine floors and walls and soaring pine cathedral ceilings with skylight windows in the open concept kitchen/dining/living room and master bedroom. All face out to the lake with the second bedroom tucked into the back of the cottage, great for those that want to sleep in.
The bunkie is the perfect spot for the teen in the family who wants a little privacy and has its own 2-piece bathroom.
The screened-in gazebo is always a bonus as it allows the family to enjoy the great outdoors on inclement days and still feel one with nature while reading, playing board games or just relaxing.
Head down to the dock first thing in the morning, cup of coffee in hand, and keep your eyes out for the pair of loons that return to Lucy Lake every summer. If you’re lucky, you may even see the otters that sometimes come out to play when the lake is at its quietest, a rare vision in cottage country and quite a treat to watch.
Another rare treat staying at this cottage offers, is the close proximity to Algonquin Park and Oxtongue River’s Ragged Falls. The west gate of Algonquin Park is only a 10 minute drive away and offers many hiking trails and activities. People come from all over the world to this famous park, especially in the fall when the tree coulours are so breathtaking. Ragged Falls is even closer, in the opposite direction, and is rated as one of Ontario’s top 10 waterfalls.
The quaint village of Dwight is a 10-15 minute drive away and has a variety of small shops, the most popular has to be Henrietta’s Pine Bakery offering the best sticky buns in Muskoka and their Algonquin bread makes hearty sandwiches.
End your evenings with a BBQ back at the cottage and after dinner drinks in the gazebo. On a quiet night you can hear the haunting owls call to each other across the lake and you can even hear the rushing sounds of Ragged Falls. With a western exposure there is a lovely glow at sunset that blankets this beautiful spot making it the picture perfect way to end the day!Day trips are the best from Dwight!
