Welcome to a parents' dream cottage on an exquisite one-acre piece of land on the majestic shores of Lake Nipissing, the property will absolutely take your breath away!
The owner’s great uncle built the cottage and it has been in the family since 1960. It has been passed down from generation to generation and you can truly feel the family love within (and on!) its walls the moment you walk in.
The cottage’s 1,700 sq. ft. bungalow design was created with the vision of accommodating the needs and considerations of very young children through to elderly grandparents. The property is relatively flat and there are baby gates both inside and outside, on the cottage deck and lakeside deck, making it more of a safe haven for both young and old alike.
The cottage stretches along the length of the bay side of the property with the lake facing open concept living/dining room at one end, with the kitchen tucked in behind, and 3 bedrooms and a 4-piece bathroom at the opposite end, with a lake facing den in-between that has a walk-out to the wrap-around deck. Having the bedrooms in a separate wing of the cottage, far from the main living area, allows for the grown ups to socialize after the kids are tucked in or napping.
Practically every room has beautiful views of the bay through a combination of large picture windows in the living/dining area or sliding glass doors leading out to the deck in the den and 2 of the bedrooms. There is a “cottage warmth and charm of years gone by” feeling throughout the cottage.
Most cottages in Ontario do not have such a large private property with a variety of terrain and mixes of waterfronts, making this a very unique gem. The natural environment surrounding the cottage makes it so special with plenty of wooded areas on either side of the cottage separating it from neighbours.
There are a variety of access points to the water with so many choices of places to settle into and take in the great outdoors and all the amazing views! There are many remarkable natural features including your own private bay with a dock, a large peninsula point reaching out into the lake with a stunning Great Canadian Shield shoreline and an abundance of wild blueberry bushes all over the property that can be picked and eaten along the paths. The point is like an island on the lake that is attached to the main cottage property by a small trail and is definitely the place to be for enchanting sunrises and glorious sunsets.
There is also a large gated lakeside deck a few meters from the cottage with steps going down into the water making it an ideal spot for the entire family to laze away the days soaking up the sun and taking refreshing dips into the lake.
The cottage property is also a boat lovers dream! Lake Nipissing is one of the largest lakes in the province of Ontario and although a little further north of Toronto than Muskoka, it is definitely worth the drive (much of the drive being on the new extension of highway 11, making for a smooth journey)! Here you have access to the wide-open waters but can keep your boat at the dock in the sheltered bay.
With a canoe, kayak and paddleboat at your disposal, explore the extensive, rugged and magnificent shoreline and keep your eye out for a variety of birds including Loons, Herons and Osprey. For the more physically adventurous there are several rocky islands within swimming distance with one nearby island, great for jumping off, painted to look like a whale.
Needless to say, spending time at this cottage and property will be a wonderful experience for the entire family, making memories to last a lifetime! The cottage property is also a boat lovers dream!
