Announcement Regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

Phase 3

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 100 people with limited exceptions
  • Indoor social gatherings and organized public events with up to 25 people
  • Indoor religious services, rites or ceremonies, including wedding services and funeral services permitted with physical distancing
  • Indoor sports and recreational fitness facilities to open subject to a maximum 50 per cent capacity of the indoor space. Capacity for indoor spectators is 50 per cent of the usual seating capacity or 1,000 people, whichever is less. Capacity for outdoor spectators is 75 per cent of the usual seating capacity or 15,000 people, whichever is less
  • Indoor meeting and event spaces permitted to operate with physical distancing and other restrictions still in effect and capacity limited to not exceed 50 per cent capacity or 1,000 people, (whichever is less)
  • Essential and non-essential retail with with capacity limited to the number of people that can maintain a physical distance of two metres
  • Personal care services, including services requiring the removal of a face covering, with capacity limited to the number of people that can maintain a physical distance of two metres
  • Museums, galleries, historic sites, aquariums, zoos, landmarks, botanical gardens, science centres, casinos/bingo halls, amusement parks, fairs and rural exhibitions, festivals, with capacity limited to not exceed 50 per cent capacity indoors and 75 per cent capacity outdoors
  • Concert venues, cinemas, and theatres permitted to operate at:
    • up to 50 per cent capacity indoors or a maximum limit of 1,000 people for seated events (whichever is less)
    • up to 75 per cent capacity outdoors or a maximum limit of 5,000 people for unseated events (whichever is less)
    • up to 75 per cent capacity outdoors or a maximum of 15,000 people for events with fixed seating (whichever is less)
  • Real estate open houses with capacity limited to the number of people that can maintain a physical distance of two metres
  • Indoor food or drink establishments where dance facilities are provided, including nightclubs and restobars, permitted up to 25 per cent capacity or up to a maximum limit of 250 people (whichever is less)

Cancellation:

If the Provincial Government specifically bans short-term cottage rentals preventing you from traveling to your cottage rental location, you will be refunded in full.  The travel ban must include the start date of your rental period for you to be eligible for a refund.

If you have a reservation and you or someone in your group tests positive for Covid-19, our standard cancellation applies.  Please see section #7 in our Terms and conditions to review.

If you have a reservation and if you or someone in your group might have Covid-19 or is in self-isolation due to close contact, our standard cancellation applies.  Please see section #7 in our Terms and conditions to review.

To ensure the safety of our owners and future guests we are not able accept your reservation if you have experienced any of the following within 14 days of your reservation’s arrival date.

  • If you have travelled outside of Canada.
  • You have been in direct contact with anyone that is a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19.
  • You have had recent symptoms of fever of new onset cough.
  • If you have already been asked to go into self isolation for COVID-19 precautions.

If your cottage rental area has moved to a different zone and/or gathering numbers are restricted:

If gathering numbers are restricted, you may need to adjust your numbers based on what is permitted for the current zone for that area.  This may not apply if your registered guest list is all from one household.  Individuals who live alone and single parents may consider having exclusive, close contact with another household to help reduce the negative impacts of social isolation

When making a booking, it is important to consider alternative plans should gathering restrictions come into legislation between the time you book and the start of your rental.

While on vacation please remember:

  • Wear a mask. Many places will not allow you to enter without a mask.
  • Limit the number of people going into town and stores.
  • Follow the guidelines and policies stores have set out for visitors.
  • Research the community you are vacationing in to see what is open and what is not. Example: Beaches, parks, hiking trails, etc.

Cleaning Guidelines to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19

In addition to the cleaning list we already provide, we have created the following cleaning checklist based on recommendations from the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Your Cleaning Checklist

  • Ventilate rooms before you clean. Allow fresh air to circulate for at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave all windows open during the entire cleaning process.
  • Wash you hands thoroughly before and after each cleaning. Use soap and water, scrub for at least 20 seconds. If that is not possible, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Wear disposable gloves while you clean. Gloves should be thrown out after each cleaning. Make sure to wash your hands immediately after gloves are removed.
  • Clean, then disinfect. Cleaning is when you use soap or detergent to remove dirt, germs, and impurities. Disinfecting refers to the use of chemicals like bleach or alcohol to kill germs. Doing both is the best way to reduce the spread of infection.
  • Use the right disinfectant. Diluted household bleach solutions, cleaning products with at least 70% alcohol and most common disinfectants registered by the Environmental Protection Agency are believed to be effective against the Coronovirus.
  • Focus on frequently touched surfaces. Light switches, doorknobs, remote controls, and faucet handles are just a few of the areas you will need to disinfect. Please see our list of frequently touched services.
  • Wash all linens at the highest heat setting recommended by the manufacturer. That includes bed sheets, mattress covers, hand and bath towels, kitchen towels, and blankets. Wear gloves when handling dirty laundry.
  • Empty the vacuum cleaner after every cleaning. Disinfect the vacuum cleaner along with other cleaning appliances like the dishwasher and washing machine.
