Dave Craig purchased RentCottage.com from Michael and Jean Campbell in January of 2012 and officially took over the operation of the company in April of 2012. As part of the transition, the RentCottage.com headquarters was relocated from Owen Sound to Ferndale (near Lion’s Head) in June of 2012.
Before purchasing RentCottage.com, Dave had a very successful 32-year professional underwriting and sales career in the international Life, Accident & Health insurance/reinsurance industry. Dave worked for 5 major companies including The Citadel, Canada Life, Manulife Financial, Swiss Re and RMA; and during the last 20 years he did business with brokers, insurers and reinsurers in Canada, USA, Caribbean, UK, several countries in Europe and most countries in Asia Pacific. Dave’s broad international sales experience has given him a global business perspective, which is important in today’s diverse, ethnic, global marketplace and makes him ideally suited to take Rentcottage.com to the next level of business excellence.
Dave has a true enduring love of Ontario cottage country and has spent his weekends and summer vacations on the Bruce Peninsula throughout his entire adult life. Dave has been involved in the RentCottage.com business since 2001, as the owner of multiple waterfront rental properties on the Bruce Peninsula. This has given Dave valuable real estate investing experience and hands on experience managing multiple rental properties. Dave had always wanted to own and manage his own business and purchasing RentCottage.com represented the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to own a viable business in the area.
