This was the nicest cottage I’ve ever stayed at. It was perfect for my wife and I. Very laid back and quiet as across the lake is government parkland. During the week we felt like we were on our own private lake. Cameron Lake is a jewel. At first I thought it would be better to be on Georgian Bay or Lake Huron but I was wrong. The water was very clean and sandy and was the perfect temperature for swimming. I used one of the available kayaks (there is also a canoe) and rowed through Cameron Lake into Cypress Lake. Very enjoyable.
There are three decks to relax as well as the dock. We enjoyed building a fire by the water in the evening as well as sitting under the gazebo beside a propane fireplace by the dock. Great privacy with sun/shade options. The outside chairs are very comfortable as well.
Inside, the cottage was very clean with a great view of the lake. The kitchen is well provisioned and with an island so you can cook while looking over the lake. Lots of bright windows to allow a nice breeze through. You can eat dinner inside by the patio doors or at a large outside table on one of the decks. The queen size bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable. I think there must be memory foam on it. We loved waking up to view the lake right from the bed.
With its pine decor it had a very cottagy feel but because it was so well appointed I could live there. We definitely will be back. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.
