Ontario is an incredible vacation destination no matter what you like to do, but nature lovers will feel particularly at home here. This portion of Canada is absolutely stunning and offers some breathtaking natural sights that you simply have to see to believe. While you’re staying in one of our cottage rentals in Ontario, be sure to visit one of our national parks! These parks give you the ultimate taste of Canadian nature and promise to provide a simply unforgettable experience.

Bruce Peninsula National Park

You don’t have to go far from your rental to get to a national park; we’ve got one right here in the Bruce Peninsula! Bruce Peninsula National Park in Tobermory offers majestic views of the Georgian Bay, tons of interesting wildlife and plant species, and if you stick around into the evening, the view of the night sky is simply not to beat.

You can spend your afternoon playing in the sun on Singing Sands Beach, watching the diverse wildlife in their natural habitats, or hiking the beautiful coastline.

Fathom Five National Marine Park

You can’t talk about the best national parks in Ontario without mentioning Fathom Five National Marine Park. No matter whether you’re interested in exploring nature, learning about history, or observing wildlife, you can find it all right here. The ancient rock formations and 22 shipwrecks are popular with history buffs and scuba divers, while the gardeners and plant enthusiasts in your group will fall in love with the beautiful orchid species. This national park terrain was formed approximately 420 million years ago, yet it still holds the impressive attractions that draw crowds from far and wide to this day.

Cyprus Lake Park

Located within Bruce Peninsula National Park, Cyprus Lake Park is a breathtaking section of the shoreline that is popular with campers and hikers in particular. The water itself is incredibly clear and makes for an awesome photo op! Parking can fill up quite quickly, so it’s best to try and fit this destination in at the beginning of the day if you can. During the summer, the grotto is a great place to swim! If you’re searching for a gorgeous backdrop to spend the morning with your sweetheart or family, look no further than this park.

Cabot Head Provincial Park

Finally, your tour of national parks should absolutely include Cabot Head Provincial Park. Located toward the top of the Bruce Peninsula, this park has tons of fascinating landforms including sections of limestone bedrock, steep cliffs, marshes, and more. The thing to remember about this park is that there are no visitor facilities such as restrooms or showers, so be sure to come fully prepared. Also, be sure to remember that the natural features you see are very fragile and should be handled with care. Simply respect your stunning surroundings and you’ll be in for an amazing experience!
