What Is There to Do in Tobermory, Ontario

Tobermory is a lovely lakeside community situated on the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. With so many things to see and do, it might be difficult for you to narrow down what you’ll do while visiting, especially if you only have a few days in town. Here are some of our favorite activities to enjoy while staying in a Tobermory cottage rental.

Things to Do

The Grotto is located in Bruce Peninsula National Park. It is the #1 tourist attraction in Ontario, and for good reason. You’ll discover a shoreline sea cave and beautiful blue waters.

It’s easy to create memories here, as this is a natural wonder that affords visitors a ton of fun photo opportunities.

Another great spot to visit is Flowerpot Island, which is a part of the Fathom Five National Marine Park. Private tour boats take visitors there from Tobermory. Once there, they enjoy the crystal blue waters, beautiful trails, caves, flower pots, and the Lighthouse Museum.

Start planning your trip to explore the Bruce Peninsula National Park from the visitor center in Tobermory. You will have access to Halfway Log Dump with its stunning limestone cliffs and boulder beaches, Singing Sands Beach, Indian Head Cove, and the Grotto. Visitors to the park can camp out at the Cyprus Lake Campground, which has 10 yurt accommodations.

There are all sorts of ways to enjoy your time here. You’ll spot several shipwrecked ships along the way. The waters are so clear and shallow that it’s easy to see the ships through the crystal clear waters. While there, take advantage of the opportunity to snorkel, kayak or enjoy the views from a glass-bottom boat.

A trip on the M.S. Chi-Cheemaun is a great way to enjoy the area around Georgian Bay. Visitors can also enjoy the sunset dinner cruises that are offered.

Another popular option if you are looking to travel a little further for your destination is the Blue Mountain winter sports complex in Collingwood.
